WOYWW 560: Back To Work

Welcome to the weekly link up with What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday where desks of all shapes, sizes and states of tidiness can be perused, thanks to our hostess with the mostest Julia at The Stamping Ground.
My desk this week shows some lovely art gifts from Jane and Kaz from the JJAMMMA meet up last Thursday.  Jane was my partner for the Clarity ATC swap for February.
The theme was New Beginnings and this is the one that I swapped.  Kaz kindly gave me a page from the Clarity Feathered Friends colouring book that she had coloured for me.  She is also responsible for the lovely pencil rest that stops my pencil from rolling around my glass mat.  I had a brilliant afternoon catching up with friends.
Friday saw a day out in Liverpool where we visited the Tate Liverpool, the Museum of Liverpool and Albert Dock.  It was an extremely blowy day though.
Hope you are all staying dry and that no one has been flooded.  Happy WOYWW.  I'll be round this evening or tomorrow morning to visit, depending on how I feel after work.

Warhol inspired Overlay stamping

The three way overlay stamps from Claritystamp are so versatile.  Each stamp can be used individually or in combination.  Here I used two of the stamps from each set to create a card inspired by Andy Warhol.

Adventure Journal Page on a Recycled Background

I created this art journal page for the JJAMMMA challenge Adventure/Exploration.  I used recycled packaging for the background as it was too nice to throw away which also fulfils the February criteria for recycling packaging over on The Mixed Media Emporium!

Springtime Tags

I created these tags using Clarity new design stamp and stencil club products for the February tag swap over on Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art (JJAMMMA).  The theme was springtime.

Texture Stamp Background

A large background can be created from smaller stamps by repeat stamping and overlaying images.  I enjoyed building up an A5 background using Distress oxides and one of the new Chinese Lanterns Mixed Impressions texture stamps from Claritystamp.

Faux Stitched Stencil

The one day special which was introduced yesterday evening consists of a set of stencils and matching three way overlay stamps from Claritystamp.  I love the combination of words and birds.  This was my first project using one of the stencils.  Further shows with Maria Moorhouse can be seen at 9am, 1pm and 5pm today on Hochanda.

WOYWW 559: Enjoying a Break from Work

I am thoroughly enjoying my half term even though we are not going away anywhere.  Crafting, catching up on TV, meeting up with friends and the occasional day out are just the ticket.
As you can see, we started the week with a trip to IKEA and I finally sorted out all my DVD stamp storage.  I may well end up getting a second unit at some point when I buy more DVD storage cases and transfer some more of my stamps into them, but for now, I am happy to have finished labelling all the spines of the cases for ease of finding.
I can't really share anything on my desk today as I am in the throes of sample making, however I can share the sneak peeks of the ones I made for this evening's ODS with Maria Moorhouse.
I shall be blogging the first one in full tomorrow if you'd like to pop back.
Hubby is off work for the rest of the week now, so I may not get round to visiting everyone until the weekend depending on what we decide to do each day.   There are plenty more desks/artistic spaces to explore if you visit the Stamping Ground, where Julia holds the keys to this long time blog hop What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW).  Happy WOYWW everyone.

Love is In the Air: Mission Inspiration Page

The theme for the February mission over on Mission Inspiration is Love is In the Air.  The three colours are Deep Red, Hot Pink and Gold and the choice of prompt words is Hearts, Romance, Roses, Kisses and Together.  This is my interpretation.

Pastel Chinese Lanterns

Barbara Gray and Paul Church will be demonstrating these beautiful new stamps (and Groovi plates) today at 11am and 2pm.  I had such fun playing with them.  I deliberately decided to go for a pastel rather than natural look with this card.

Thursday 13 February 2020

Coloured Background but Uncoloured Focal Point

I decided to bring the stamp to the front of this card using masking fluid and creating a darker background.  I deliberately left the main image uncoloured to stand out against the background.

WOYWW 558: Happy Valentine's Day

I don't have any art to show on my desk today as you will see later so I thought I'd share one of my previous projects.  This Valentine took less than an hour (plus drying time) to make, but I still think it's lovely.

Oval-ly Excited Flowers on Kraft

There are all sorts of possibilities with these new stamps and stencils by Sam Crowe.  Here I decided to create a picture with some of the Oval-ly Excited stamp set.

WOYWW 557: On Top of Things

I confess that I am a list maker.  I like to plan ahead and tick jobs off as they are done.  That way I can prioritise and I get a sense of satisfaction when my jobs for the day are complete; especially if I finish them earlier than I thought they would be.
First on my list for yesterday was to complete some tags for the February JJAMMMA tag swap.  I also decided to make use of my half price find in Hobbycraft last week, my new box of 12 Derwent Inktense pencils.  I can't show you the full tags, as they won't have been received by my swap partner yet.  I can report that the pencils are great though.  Really vibrant when blended with water and a little goes a long way.

I thought I'd share a couple of recent samples that made it to air.  I am not short of blog posts for the next month lol.  I'll be linking up today via The Stamping Ground as usual.  Wednesday just wouldn't be Wednesday without seeing what everyone is up to in their crafty spaces.  I'll be round to visit in the morning or maybe this evening if I'm not too tired after work.  Happy WOYWW everyone.

Raining Cats and Dogs

These delightful cat and dog die sets from Claritystamp were launched yesterday evening at 6pm on Hochanda as the One Day Special.  Further shows can be seen today at 9am, 1pm and 5pm (GMT).  I had such fun playing with them; both whole and by snipping into them.  I couldn't resist a play on words for my first sample.

Don't Stop Making Waves: A Card

Barbara Gray will be bringing a new collection of Under the Sea stamps designed by Cherry Green to Hochanda this afternoon between 2pm and 4pm (GMT).  This is the first sample that I made.
