 The latest prompt over on Tag Tuesday is School Days (fittingly enough).  I thought this tag would fit the bill.

I started by adding the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag.  It was coloured with Lava Red, Peacock Green and Golden Mint Pixie Powders.  Before trimming, it was sealed with Distress Collage Medium and dried thoroughly.

I have only one sheet of the Tim Holtz Terminology Tissue Wrap left (sadly no longer available), so used only two tiny scraps to add some text to the tag (in the same way as the paper towel).

I stamped the individual owl from the Wise Owls stamp set by Clarity Crafts onto a piece of mixed media card using Onyx Black Versafine ink, added the separate mortar board, and heat embossed the whole thing with detail clear embossing powder.  He was coloured using the Flesh Colour and Beige Kuretake Clean Colour Pens and the Sepia and Dark Ochre Ecoline pens.  Before he was glued down, the separate tassel was stamped directly onto the tag in the appropriate place.

Finally, to give the owl something to stand on, I added the word 'read' using the Word Chain Alphabet, again stamped in Onyx Black directly onto the tag and heat embossed to match.

A Celestial Tag

I found a fabulous inky mop up paper towel to create the background for this celestial tag - this fortnight's prompt on Tag Tuesday. 

Travel Tag

The current challenge over on Tag Tuesday is travel.  I am in the midst of report writing and looking forward to the summer holidays so I found a tag to join in with.

A winter Holiday Tag

This fortnight's theme on Tag Tuesday is Winter Holidays and I think this wintery scene fits the prompt perfectly.

Use A Die Cut on A Tag

 The latest challenge over on Tag Tuesday is 'Use a die cut'.  Not a problem as I have every die that Claritystamp has ever produced to choose from.  Here's what I ended up making using the Five Dandelions Aperture die.

I am still having fun each month joining in with the challenge over on Tag It Tuesday.  For this month the four prompts were: Use buttons, add a charm/metal piece, doodle around the edges and fussy cut and attach something.  The two colour choices were turquoise and lime green which is one of my favourite colour combinations.

I haven't participated in Tag Tuesday for a while.  The current prompt is use a photo or part of one.  I also feel this tag meets the Mid Month Mini Mission prompt for January over on Mission Inspiration: Secret.

Bright and Cheerful Tag

For once I just decided to play with a tag and see where I ended up rather than following any prompts.

Floral Tag with Die Cut Foil

There is a new format for the challenges over on Tag It Tuesday this year. There are four techniques, of which two are the minimum and two colours of which one must be used. This month’s techniques are: Add aluminium foil, use a white crayon to resist ink, add paint using the edge of a card to make lines, add a piece of fabric. This month’s colours are blue and Forest Green. I used both colours and three of the techniques.

I started by adding the top layer of a piece of paper towel with Forest Moss and Fossilized Amber ink on it to a #8 manilla tag, sealed it with matte medium and dried thoroughly.

Next, I tore off a second layer and added it in the same way at the top.

Next, I added flower stems and grass using Olive Green Light and Permanent Green Light Amsterdam acrylic paint and the edge of an old season card.

For one of the flower heads, I used the smallest Heart Blossom Picot Flower die to cut aluminium foil. I also cut a couple of the smallest Stellar Blooms Picot Flowers in the same way.

I added alcohol inks (Indigo and Sail Boat Blue) to the foil.

To attach the flower heads to the tag, I used double sided tape behind the centres only.

Fabric flowers were added to the centre of each foil flower using brads.

To finish, I added several of Barbara’s Word stickers.

Safe Happy and Creative: A Mandala Tag

I finally got round to the December prompts over on Tag It Tuesday.  The prompts this month were 1) Glue down string or twine, 2) Add a mandala image, 3) Use cheese cloth or gauze and 4) Blue.  I was inspired by a tag by Nozomi Mochizuki. She used all four prompts, but I only used two.

Glitter Birds on Floral Spray Tag

I couldn't resist using some of the birds from the Birds and Flower Rows stamp set on this tag for the October challenge on Tag It Tuesday.  The four prompts were
1) Add sewing or embroidery thread or fibres; 2) Fussy Cut and attach something; 3) Green; 4) Add glitter.  As you will see, I used all four.

I started by adding the top layer of a paper towel that had been used to mop up ink to a #8 manilla tag. I used matte medium to glue and seal the paper towel and then dried thoroughly and trimmed the excess. The ink was mostly green so that fulfils prompt 3.

Next, I stamped the Clarity bird row onto book paper in Sepia Versafine ink and glued it to some stencil card.

I fussy cut the birds ready to add to the tag (prompt 2).

Using a stamp platform and Onyx Black Versafine ink, I added Tina’s original Floral Spray to the tag.

Three of the fussy cut birds were then added.

To fulfil prompt 1, I added some French knots to the small flowers at the bottom using Madeira metallic thread.

I added some hot pink glitter to the birds to go with the French knots, fulfilling prompt 4.

To finish, I added one of Leonie’s word stickers.
