WOYWW 721: Counting Down

Only two more working days to the Easter holiday including today and I am intending to be rather lazy.  Happy WOYWW everyone and welcome to my contribution to the weekly get together courtesy of Julia at Stamping Ground.

You can see from my drawing journal that I am nearly half way through it.  There are enough pages for 6 months worth of drawings so I will definitely go for these Seawhite journals another year.
I wasn't going for a tree drawing 2 days in a row.

I had previously drawn the more obvious response.
I do need to make a birthday card for my sister next Wednesday so I had better get going on that. I visited the opticians yesterday and was finally able to order some proper reading glasses.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

Fun Experimental Tag

The prompt this fortnight over on Tag Tuesday is Your Favourite Theme.  I like experimenting, the colour green, book paper and leaves and flowers so thought this tag fitted the bill perfectly.
I started by covering a #8 manilla tag with a page of Romanian text, drying and trimming.
I started adding leaves using the #2 stamp in the Skeleton Leaf 3 way overlay tile stamp set from Clarity Crafts.  I stamped the leaf three times in Versamark ink and heat embossed the images in clear embossing powder.
Next came the experimenting with Oxide sprays.  I chose Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint and sprayed them both lightly onto the tag, drying the ink with my heat gun.  Before spraying, I gently shook each spray bottle from side to side, like ringing a bell.
I spritzed a little water over the tag before adding more of the Cracked Pistachio.  I also added a light mist of Twisted Citron Distress Spray Stain.  As the oxide sprays dry to a chalky finish, mixing in one of the original spray stains added patches of vibrancy.  Once again, I used my heat gun to dry the tag thoroughly.
I wondered how the Distress Archival inks would work over the Oxide sprays.  I took the same stamp as before and stamped it multiple times in Peeled Paint Archival ink, then went over the top with a little Vintage Photo around the edges.
I went round the edges of the leaves and the tag with a white gel pen.  The gel pen produces quite a subtle effect over the Oxide sprays.
To finish, I added one of the Tim Holtz quote chips.

Rainbow Butterflies

Clarity Crafts have brought out some lovely stamps which coordinate with the 3D butterfly dies.  They can also be used on flat cards as seen in my first sample using the collection.

WOYWW 720: Just Over A week

Welcome to my weekly contribution to WOYWW thanks to Julia at Stamping Ground for keeping things going.  Hope you are feeling better this week.

Sorry there is not much of interest on my desk today but I can't show you what I am working on yet.

We had the grand kitties to stay while the boys were off gallivanting in Moldova and Croatia for a few days.  They were really good and we had no issues with the new carpet.  They are back home now so no need to worry about letting them out by mistake.

I can't believe I reached day 80 in my #dailydrawing2023 challenge yesterday.  Only a week and a half until the Easter holidays now.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

Daily Drawing Challenge 2023: Latest Progress

Half way through month three and still going strong.  Hard to believe nearly a quarter of 2023 is done.  I am still going strong with my #dailydrawing2023 self imposed challenge.

The latest prompts that I am suing for this month.
Keeping it simple - especially on work days.
I went with an alternative response.
Anyone who has read the Chalet School series of books by Eleanor M Brent-Dyer will know where I got the inspiration for this one.
Obvious but easy.
The style rather than a more literal interpretation.
Another obvious reponse.
Simplest one yet.
A jail break seemed obvious.
Fairly straight forward.
Otherwise known as an overpot.
Two similar prompts to finish.
