Happy New Year

My hairdresser was kind enough to squeeze me in for a haircut on Friday and I made this card for her using the last Clarity Club Stamps of 2023.

I was determined to use all my Clarity Club stencils before the end of the year and used the December offering to make may last Christmas card of 2023.

Wings Tag

The current challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Wings and this tag fits the bill well.

I received some amazing mop up pieces and happy mail from Liz Berlinger all the way from Canada a while back. When they arrived, even the envelope had been decorated and I kept it to cut up and use as backgrounds. It was just right for a quick project. I added a section to a #8 manilla tag, sealed it with distress collage medium, dried and trimmed.

As the background itself was already perfect, I took colours and themes that had been used on it already and created a flag topper using the three largest Stitched Flag dies by Sue Wilson in black, rose gold and white. I used all the teeny weenie bird stamps that I could find from various Claritystamp sets (Family Miniatures, Woodland Miniatures, Garden Miniatures, Nativity Miniatures and Whimsical Miniatures) and stamped them onto the white tag using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then went over with some Antique Linen Distress Oxide to better match the background of the tag.

This was added to the tag and the top trimmed level.

The final touch was to add a couple of the Small Talk stickers by Tim Holtz idea-ology.

Mandala Rings Round Up

There was a super saver deal on the set of 12 Mini Mandala die sets from Clarity recently. I thought I'd do a round up of the projects I made with the four Mini Mandala Rings sets.

WOYWW 760: Last of the Year

Welcome to my last WOYWW desk share of 2023 - I can't believe that it will be 2024 by next week!

I am starting to sort through my stash ready for my new collage challenge in 2024. I shall not be afraid to let the white space in the background of the page show.

I have been rewatching Glee.

We will be seeing Mum for her birthday today as a family but enjoyed Christmas dinner with just the 5 of us at #1 and #2 sons' house as is becoming tradition. We lit a candle to remember Dad. I still have the rest of the memory cats to wrap up as my sister (a GP) is working today and won't get there until late. The boys had theirs yesterday but the rest won't receive them until later so I will post pictures next week.

The hall is booked!!! Penkhull Village Hall, Trent Valley Road, Stoke on Trent, ST4 5JB. We have it from 9am until 5pm so the crop will be starting between 9.30-10 and will have to finish by 4.30 at the latest to allow us time to clean and tidy. Eva and I will be co-hosting and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Christmas Eve Birthday

My husband's birthday is on Christmas Eve. It is lovely to make something other than Christmas Cards at this time of year, although I have given a nod to the season with a red and green colour scheme.

I love these mini mandala dies from Clarity Crafts. They work in a variety of colour ways. Here I worked with kraft, black and white - one of my go-to combinations.
