Going Round In Circles?

The current theme over on Try It On Tuesday is Going Round in Circles.  I decided this tag with its circle background would fit the bill really well.

Cover a #8 manilla tag with a piece of shaving foam marble card and trim the excess.

Add stamping using the solid circle stamp from Sam’s Shapes 2 in shades of blue (Cobalt, Sky Blue) and pink (Picked Raspberry, Pink Peony) archival inks.
Over stamp the circles using various stamps from the Don’t be Such a Square stamp set in Onyx Back Versafine ink, heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Fill the remaining circles in the same manner, but this time use Versamark ink and heat emboss using white embossing powder.
To finish, add a title using the Clarity Tall Letterbox Infill Alphabet and Numbers stamps in Onyx Black Versafine ink.

In The Pink: A Tag

The current prompt over on Tag Tuesday is In the Pink.  I thought this one qualified.

I started by adding a blending mat copy paper mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag.

I then blended Blaze ink through the Garden Heart stencil, moving the stencil around until the whole of the tag was covered.

Next, I stamped the heart in Terracotta and the verse which comes with it in Dark Garnet Artistry ink.

The heart background was painted in Blaze ink and a water brush.  I picked out the birds from the stencilled background, drawing around them with a fine liner and painted them in same way.

I love how the stencil complements the stamp set.

Mid Month Mini Make - Touch of Purple

The mid month challenge over on Clarity Mini Makes & ATCs is to make something small using a favourite Clarity stamp and a touch of purple and an uplifting sentiment.  I went with a tag, although I struggled to pick a favourite stamp.  In the end I went with the Build a Wreath stamps and picked an older verse to go with them.

Seize the Day!!!

I thought this tag would fit the bill for the latest prompt over on Tag Tuesday - New Beginnings.  Carpe Diem (Seize the day) seems a fitting aim for 2025.

I started by covering a #8 manilla tag with a piece of copy paper that I had used to clean my brayer off when creating a gelli print using Golden Hi Flow acrylic paints (see HERE).  The paper was sealed with matte gel medium, dried thoroughly and trimmed.
I stamped the Carpe Diem sentiment directly onto the tag using Majestic Blue Versafine ink and heat embossed in detail clear embossing powder.  I then used a blue Sakura PN micron pen to colour in the lettering.
I also stamped and heat embossed - this time in Onyx Black Versafine - one of the large stamps from the Hats 2 set by Clarity Crafts onto a separate piece of card.  This was coloured using my Kuretake Clean Colour pens, fussy cut and added to the tag.
To finish, I blended the Van Gogh Phthalo Blue Oil Pastel (Royal Talens) along the edges.  I will have to seal the tag otherwise the oil pastel will eventually rub off.

Typical Winter Holiday Tag?

I associate robins with winter, so as the current challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Winter Holidays I thought this tag would fit - especially with the sentence reveals!

Not A Morning Person

I was playing with a bargain find from a second hand book store creating a background, and this tag developed from there.

Rest In Peace - Or Pieces?

The latest challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Spooky Vibes. I thought this tag might fit the bill.

Cover a #8 manila tag with a gel print created with pink dye based ink on a gel plate with splashes of orange and red liquid Brushos. Trim the excess.
Stamp the solid jigsaw piece from Sam’s Shapes 1 in Carved Pumpkin Oxide in several places.
Stamp the outline over each solid jigsaw shape in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat emboss with clear powder.
To finish, add two of the Halloween quote chips by Tim Holtz.

Read!

The latest prompt over on Tag Tuesday is School Days (fittingly enough).  I thought this tag would fit the bill.

I started by adding the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag.  It was coloured with Lava Red, Peacock Green and Golden Mint Pixie Powders.  Before trimming, it was sealed with Distress Collage Medium and dried thoroughly.
I have only one sheet of the Tim Holtz Terminology Tissue Wrap left (sadly no longer available), so used only two tiny scraps to add some text to the tag (in the same way as the paper towel).
I stamped the individual owl from the Wise Owls stamp set by Clarity Crafts onto a piece of mixed media card using Onyx Black Versafine ink, added the separate mortar board, and heat embossed the whole thing with detail clear embossing powder.  He was coloured using the Flesh Colour and Beige Kuretake Clean Colour Pens and the Sepia and Dark Ochre Ecoline pens.  Before he was glued down, the separate tassel was stamped directly onto the tag in the appropriate place.
Finally, to give the owl something to stand on, I added the word 'read' using the Word Chain Alphabet, again stamped in Onyx Black directly onto the tag and heat embossed to match.

Floral Tag

The current prompt over on Tag Tuesday is Flowers.  There are certainly plenty of stamps from Clarity Crafts to choose from to fulfil this prompt.  I went with Tina's Floral Poppy Spray.

I added book text to a #8 manilla tag to create a background. This was dried and trimmed.
Next, I stamped Tina’s Floral Poppy spray onto the tag in Nocturne Versafine Clair ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Laying the coordinating stencil over the top of the stamping, I added colour to the flowers and leaves with Distress Oxides (Candied Apple, Peeled Paint and Blueprint Sketch).
I then added a black pearl to the centre of each of the larger poppies.
I blended weathered Wood Distress ink around the image and the edges of the tag to create a vignette.
To finish, I added one of Barbara’s Feel Good Factor Stickers.

Embrace Your Freedom: A Bird Tag

I couldn't resist using some of the birds from the Birds and Flower Rows stamp set on this tag for the Bird challenge on Tag Tuesday. I am just getting this shared before the next prompt is announced tomorrow.

Marie Antoinette: A Tag

There is an unusual prompt for the current Tag Tuesday Challenge: Marie Antoinette.  I had to find a photo online as I didn't have anything suitable in my stash.  Here's my contribution.

Wings Tag

The current challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Wings and this tag fits the bill well.

I received some amazing mop up pieces and happy mail from Liz Berlinger all the way from Canada a while back.  When they arrived, even the envelope had been decorated and I kept it to cut up and use as backgrounds.  It was just right for a quick project.  I added a section to a #8 manilla tag, sealed it with distress collage medium, dried and trimmed.
As the background itself was already perfect, I took colours and themes that had been used on it already and created a flag topper using the three largest Stitched Flag dies by Sue Wilson in black, rose gold and white.  I used all the teeny weenie bird stamps that I could find from various Claritystamp sets (Family Miniatures, Woodland Miniatures, Garden Miniatures, Nativity Miniatures and Whimsical Miniatures) and stamped them onto the white tag using Onyx Black Versafine ink, then went over with some Antique Linen Distress Oxide to better match the background of the tag.
This was added to the tag and the top trimmed level.
The final touch was to add a couple of the Small Talk stickers by Tim Holtz idea-ology.

You're the Best: A Thank You Tag

The current prompt over on Tag Tuesday is Words/ Sentiments.  The Word Chain stamps from Clarity Crafts come in two sizes and for many occasions.  This tag could be used to accompany a thank you or congratulatory gift.

I started by adding a piece of blending mat mop up copy paper to a #8 manilla tag and trimming it to fit.
Next, I brushed Dry Weed and Golden Turmeric Artistry ink through the Clarity Leafy Swirls stencil to add some soft background detail.
'You're so kind' from mini word chains 19 & 20 was added in Peat Moss archival ink.
Followed by the smaller of the Clarity Leafy Swirls stamps in the same ink.
The same image was stamped twice more, but this time in Chrome Yellow Archival ink.

To finish,  I added the butterfly from the same stamp set in Chrome Yellow Archival ink.
I love the tone on tone effect and have plenty more inky mop up sheets to use as the base of further gift tags.
