Embrace Your Freedom: A Bird Tag

I couldn't resist using some of the birds from the Birds and Flower Rows stamp set on this tag for the Bird challenge on Tag Tuesday. I am just getting this shared before the next prompt is announced tomorrow.

Celebrating! It's Coming Home

I wasn't sure if I would be posting today having completed a full year without interruption yesterday at the end of a tiring school trip.  However, the July prompts on Tag It Tuesday, combined with England's semi final win this afternoon, were just too good to resist.  I actually used all four prompts for a change, although a minimum of two are allowed.
1 Glitter; 2 Add song lyrics; 3 Celebrations; 4 Something random on your desk.

There's No Place Like Home

This tag was made ready for sharing on the last day of the school visit to Berlin.  It seems apt as we are flying home today and I'm sure there will be lots of stories to share about the week's experiences.  Today also marks a milestone for my blog which is nearly three years old.  I have posted once a day since returning from Berlin last year, so today marks an uninterrupted year of sharing and crafting!

Blending Experiment

I wanted to try out my new Pergamano blending pen and nibs to see how they would work with my Faber-Castell Big Brush Markers.  They are fabulous for fine detail and I discovered an unexpected bonus.

A Bird does not sing: Journal Page

This page was made in response to the June Challenge on Mixed Media Art Journey.  There are 6 prompts each month.  These month's prompts in no particular order are: Make a page, add red, add texture, use scrap paper, add doodles and favourite quote.

Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle: A Journal Page

The February prompt on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More is Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle.  I do this a great deal anyway, so I really enjoyed diving into my left over stash to see what I could use.  The only item on the page which didn't come from my left over box was the Quote Chip which finished off the page.

Babes in the Wood Tag

I had little idea where I was going with this tag when I started; it evolved as it went along.  I am really pleased with the finished piece; it has a very vintage feel about it!

A Stencilled Tag Experiment

There are several challenges that I've noticed recently which include stencilling as a technique.  I therefore decided to work on a tag to practise layering different stencilled designs, and shall enter the resulting piece in the November Country View Challenge: Stencils. All the stencils that I used are the mini layering stencils by Tim Holtz.

Carpe Diem: A Quick Sky Background

A super speedy tag to share today as I am setting off very early with my crafty friend to make it to Llandudno by 10am for the WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday) annual crop.

Back To School Tag

The fortnightly prompt which came out on Tag Tuesday on my birthday had me reflecting.  Back to School has two meanings for me; the return to work after the summer break and thinking back to my own school days many years ago which were very happy.  I decided to go with nostalgia, as you can see from the tag...

Scrap Tag Take Two

I had such fun with the last tag that I created for the Use Your Scraps challenge with Tag Tuesday that I decided to make another before the fortnight was up.  Once again, the only item not to come out of my 'scrap box' was the base tag itself and the stickers.
I started as ever with a #8 manilla tag.  I glued the remaining section of my Moroccan inspired mop up sheet onto the tag using Pebeo matte gel, dried it and trimmed the excess (to see the original and the project that I used the rest of the sheet for see HERE).
I had a white card die cut using the Spellbinders Contemporary Diamonds die in my scrap die cut box and coloured it using Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish in Ocean Teal.
This was then glued at an angle across the tag with the squares lined up with the sides of the tag.
I also had one of the Butterflies by Tim Holtz, cut using his Bigz die out of white card, then embossed using the matching texture fades embossing folder.  This was coloured with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide, the embossing on the wings coloured and finger blended with Peacock Feathers distress crayon and the body with Picked Raspberry.  This  tied it in with some of the colours used on the mop up sheet.  The butterfly was glued on at an angle (behind the body only) and the wings elevated.
It only remained to add a couple of the Tim Holtz Clippings Stickers to finish the tag.

Scrap Tag

I needed a quick piece of art to blog today and the challenge set by Tag Tuesday for the next fortnight (Use Your Scraps) was right up my street.  I never throw mop up sheets and interesting pieces of paper towel away.

Art Journal Prompts Week 8: Spread Your WIngs

I only have one more back prompt to complete now and I will be fully caught up with the Art Journal Prompts for 2017 so far.  This page was created to fit the prompt 'Spread Your Wings'.

Journal52 17: Wonder

This seemed an appropriate page to share as this is my 300th blog post since I started sharing my art work under two year's ago.  It was completed as part of the Journal52 weekly challenge led by Effy Wild, which I started joining in with at the beginning of this year; for all the other prompts check out the link.
