Journal52 17: Wonder

This seemed an appropriate page to share as this is my 300th blog post since I started sharing my art work under two year's ago.  It was completed as part of the Journal52 weekly challenge led by Effy Wild, which I started joining in with at the beginning of this year; for all the other prompts check out the link.

I started with a mop up page from a previous project (see here), glued it down and also sealed over the top with Pebeo matte gel.  Once dry, I trimmed around the sides.  As the prompt was 'Wonder' and the stamp that I was planning on using was a light bulb, I felt the colours were perfect for the background.  It was also a very quick way to 'break the page'.

For all the stamping I used Onyx Black Versafine ink and clear embossing powder.  The light bulb is from the Shine Bright stamp set by Visible Image.  Having added it to the page, I used a selection of Spectrum Noir coloured pencils from the Floral set to add colour and shading both inside and immediately around the image.  These were blended together and smoothed out using the blending stumps and blending solution.
I then added the quote, highlighting the prompt by stamping it using the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet, and hand writing the rest using a Pitt Artist Pen.  I also decided to add one of the Wee Folk characters from set 1 by Claritystamp at the bottom of the page, to emphasise the amazement and wonder that I have for the size of the world in comparison to the size of myself.  Some more shading and blending with the same pencils completed the page.
