Bamboo Moon

Just available as a contrast to the 2-way birch tree stamps are these 2-way bamboo stamps from Clarity Crafts.  I kept things simple and let the stamps do the talking.

Happiness, Serenity, Prosperity

The brush stroke stamps in this new Enso Symbols set were just crying out for my favourite rainbow colours.  I teamed them up with some of the bijou Japanese symbols released at the same time.

WOYWW 751: Poorly Car

 Well it has not been a great week since I last joined in with Julia at Stamping Ground for WOYWW.  The engine management light came on in my car on my way to the open morning at school on Saturday morning so I had to get a lift and the car is going in for a diagnostic this afternoon (Tuesday as I write) to see what needs doing.  Keeping everything crossed it won't cost too much or I will be looking for a new car to put the repair money towards.

My desk shows all the early Clarity New Design Club stamps that were part of the estate sale that I picked up.

My drawings this week have been kept quick and simple out of necessity this week.  I must admit that I can't wait until the weekend and the start of half term.  I have a full day felting class with Tilly Tea Dance on Saturday.  Hopefully the car will be back in use otherwise hubby will be giving me a lift there and back.  Stay safe everyone and Happy WOYWW.

UPDATE: After the repalcement of a wire and the diagnostic run for a second time, all well again.  Total cost £60.

A Thank You from the Family

These cards were made as a thank you to the staff on the ward at Burton Hospital where my Dad passed away at the beginning of August this year.  The first was made for his favourite health care assistant who helped my Mum so much at the end and who he referred to as his angel.

A Transport Tag!

The current prompt over on Tag Tuesday is a Form of Transport.  I decided to go with a hot air balloon.

Noel Santa

I went with traditional Santa colours for this final card using the third part of the Linda Williams' Christmas Compendium stamps from Clarity Crafts.

All Hearts Tree Scene

The nested square embedders make great masks as well as providing a crisp finishing touch to a card.

Twinkle Candle Chandelier

I decided to add stamping to a gel print to create the background to this card.  Holographic embossing powder and glitter card also seemed to be the order of the day.

All Hearts Come Home for Christmas

The third part of Linda Williams' Christmas Compendium release includes this lovely stamp set and verse.  I decided to add some variety by having the line art in white and colouring with watercolour pens.

WOYWW 750: What A Milestone

 Congratulations on the 750th edition of WOYWW thanks to Julia (and Jan) at Stamping Ground.  I am here today to join in and share my desk.

These are just some of the Clarity stamps that I bought from the estate sale where I got the project folder shown last week.  All older stamps mostly discontinued now. 

I went for my Covid jab and a hair cut yesterday - not at the same time obviously.  I had tested myself on Friday as I was kept up all night with a nasty cough.  Saw the Doctor Friday morning and am taking cough medicine four times a day as a result - to return in two weeks if no better.

In school on Saturday morning as it is our annual open morning for prospective parents.  Only a week and a half to go to the holidays!  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

#inktober2023: The First Half

 I am using the prompts for #inktober2023 for my #dailydrawing2023 challenge.  Here is a round up of the first half of the month.

I went with the Dodge Ram badge.

Used for opening letters.

Happy Birthday Stencil Background

I finally got round to using the Clarity Club stencil from June this year and used part of it to create this birthday card.

Die cut a frame ina piece of Clarity stencil card using the second largest nested square heart doodle aperture frame-its die.

Mask off inside the frame using low tack tape.

Lay the June 2023 Clarity club stencil (#109) into the centre with the leaves showing only. Draw round the leaves and into the apertures with a black Posca pen.

Colour in the leaves using black Pitt artist pen.

Replace the stencil and blend French Ultramarine Archival ink into the centre of the masked off frame.

Add the mini script stencil and blend Seafarer Archival ink through it in places.

Replace with the mini dot wave stencil and add further French Ultramarine ink through it in several places.

Replace with one of the small Mandala stencils and add Pink Peony archival ink in the same manner. Remove the masking.

Add Happy Birthday into the corner in Black Soot Distress Archival ink using the KISS Bijou ribbon sentiment.

Die cut the topper using the 6” nested squares die and a mat from Indian Summer companion paper using the corresponding picot die.

To finish, mat up the topper and add it to the front of a 7” x 7” white card blank.
