Card for an English Teacher

This card was made for a colleague who left last year having covered a maternity leave.  She is an English teacher so I tried to make the card fit.

Add the ink well stamp from the Artist stamp set from Clarity Crafts to a piece of Clarity stencil card in Black Soot Distress Archival ink.

Add the quill from the same set as before.

Make masks for the stamps from mask blanks and mask up the images.

Add the ABC stencil to the card and blend through in Sap Green, Ultramarine Blue and Pink Peony Archival inks. Remove the stencil.

Using the Art Block Alphabet stamps add Best of Luck in the same black ink as before. Remove the masking.

Colour the ink bottle and the quill using Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer water colour pencils picked up off a mix mat with a water colour brush pen.

Add some of the pen swirls in the same ink as the stamping.

Go over the ink bottle with an embossing pen and heat emboss with clear powder.

Go round the edges of the topper with a black Sharpie pen.

To finish, mat onto Amazonia companion paper, trim leaving a narrow border and add to the front of an 8” x 8” white card blank.
