WOYWW 660: Same Old, Same Old

Things have settled well into a routine now in 2022 - I have developed a rythmn for bothwork and play and feel a lot less stressed as a result.  My desk shot for WOYWW (please visit Julia to find out more) was taken yesterday afternoon as I was getting out the bits and pieces for today's daily journal page.

If I don't plan things out the night before then I spend too long before work getting the page complete.  Hubby has also been making a lot of soup in the new soup machine so you can see the latest bowl of carrot and coriander in the background lol.

I tend to try and find enough similar material to do two pages so that I can tie in the opposite ones.

After today, masks will no longer have to be worn in school even in the corridors, however I have chosen to continue wearing one.  I have so far managed to avoid catching Covid and really hope to continue to do so.

Happy WOYWW everyone, I'll be round to visit later or in the morning as usual.

Heart Themed Cards: Ideas and Inspiration

I love these heart stamps designed by Linda Williams.  They are so versatile for a variety of occasions.  I have gathered some ideas and inspiration for them into one place.  Links to the step by steps are below each photo.

Fashion Silhouettes - Ideas and Inspiration

Having worked on a tag with a fabric background and a Paris theme, I thought I would showcase some ideas and inspiration using some fashion backgrounds and stylish silhouettes from Claritystamp.

Links to the individual card instructions are below each card - see HERE.

WOYWW 659: Ever Onwards

Morning - my how the weeks seem to speed by.  I am getting into the rhythm of 2022 both craftwise and workwise and have a well established routine now.

My desk is fairly familiar as I prepare for the next day's journal page in advance when it falls on a workday to speed up the process. So you can see the materials I have gathered ready for today's page which will tie in with yesterday's on the opposite page.  I found a load more scraps on turning out a cupboard so am well supplied for the near future.

I popped over to Eva's to watch the footie at the weekend and we are going to brave the Bet365 Stadium at the weekend and see how comfortable we feel remaining there for the match with the safety measures in place.
Eva makes it over to the shed most Thursdays now and last week she was working with her new Polychromos on parchment having tried mine out previously.  Wednesday night is school meeting night so it will probably be tomorrow morning before I get round to visiting.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

Fabric Background on a Tag

The latest challenge over on Tag Tuesday is 'Put Fabric On It'.  I took the opportunity to experiment with an entirely fabrisc background.

Daily Challenge 2022

Having completed a drawing each day in 2021, I decided to change my daily art challenge for 2022.  I had a 6" x 6" kraft card scrapbook and will be using it to complete a quick journal page each day.  I spent some time at the end of 2021 sorting out left over die cuts, paper scraps, unfinished toppers and collage elements ready to go and added white gesso to the first pages of the scrapbook.  Here is my journey so far.

WOYWW 658: Getting Up to Speed

Week 2 of 2022 already and well back into the swing of things at work now.  To check out what WOYWW is all about, visit Julia at Stamping Ground and she will explain more about our weekly virtual get togethers.

I have already finished my first six samples of 2022 and am currently averaging 200 per year, which gives me plenty of blog posts.  I find that if I layout my daily journal page the evening before then school mornings aren't too much of a problem keeping up with the challenge.

As you can see, I am working pairs of pages, sticking to similar colours and layouts for ease of planning.  I picked up my order of the scrapbooks needed for the rest of the year yesterday so I have to carry on now lol.  Meeting after school today so I'll visit anyone I didn't get to in the morning tomorrow.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

I continued my mission to use every item from the Clarity New Design clubs that I received in 2021.  Here I created a birthday card using the November stencil.

WOYWW 657: Back To Reality

Happy New Year and welcome to my first WOYWW contribution of 2022.  First day back at work too!  I shall continue to join in each week with Julia and the gang at Stamping Ground.  Newcomers are always welcome so pop over and see what it's all about.

As you can see with the start of 2022 I have set myself a new daily challenge.  I will be using up all the scraps, left over die cuts and bits and pieces of stamping to create a daily 5 minute journal page.  I can't allow much longer on work days so I need to plan those the day before.  I spent New Year's Eve sorting through my scrap box and sorting things into groups and files.

For LLJ!

I did finish my daily drawing challenge for 2021 so it will be good to see how far I get in 2022.

Using one of Shaz's diecuts from the last crop.

I prepare the pages in advance by adding gesso to two pages at a time.  I also like to match the colours and ideas in pages that are opposite each other in the book.  Well I shall be off to work in a while - not much marking to do today compared with a normal Wednesday so can take things relatively quietly.  Be round to visit later or tomorrow morning.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.
