WOYWW 704: Normal Service Has Been Resumed

And so another week flies by.  I can't believe that tomorrow will be December!  Don't forget to visit all the other WOYWW desks via Julia at Stamping Ground.

I decided to make a tag yesterday and took a picture of some of my more recent ones on my desk before I started (blogging the finished piece on Friday).

As you can see I have moved on to a more vintage feel in my daily journal using the Tim Holtz Christmas paper dolls.

I had a fabulous time at Maxine's felting workshop on Saturday but can't share what I made as it will be a Christmas present.

My hand is more or less back to normal now with just the occasional twinge.  The swelling and bruising have gone and I was able to put my wedding ring on again yesterday too.

Hoping to get round to you all later today after work.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

SHAC Doodle Stamps: Ideas and Inspiration Part 4

During the pandemic, Barbara Gray of Clarity Crafts started a free online workshop drawing and doodling.  These were later turned into stamps.  Here are some ideas and inspiration with the first lot of stamps.  Links to the step by step projects are below each image.

The balloon basket was difficult to draw so I was glad when the stamps came out (see HERE).

WOYWW 703: A Less Painful Week

Thanks for all the good wishes regarding my hand.  It is getting back to normal after a week, although I didn't go to my recorder group yesterday afternoon as a precaution.  I am back to marking and have caught up with the backlog thank goodness.

My desk shows some of my older Clarity stamps and stencils as I was working on some new samples with old favourites yesterday ready to post.
On the other side of the desk, Eva managed to visit for a crafty get together after over a month.

My #dailychallenge2022 pieces are very winter oriented still - the weather has been so cold, wet and miserable.
Don't forget to visit/link up with Julia at Stamping Ground for WOYWW.  Stay safe and happy WOYWW.

I will Lift My Eyes Unto the Hills: A Tag

This is my contribution to the latest challenge over on Tag Tuesday (Add a Saying/Quote).  As you will see, I used a quote from the bible.

Trim a little off either side of a #8 manilla tag so it measures 3” in width. Add a piece of inky deli paper to the tag, seal it with matte medium, dry thoroughly and trim the excess.
Use the thanks 3” x 3” aperture die from Clarity with stencil card.
Remove the leaves from the die cut with scissors.
Stamp the robin (ClarityNDC #86) onto another piece of stencil card in Onyx Black Versafine ink.
Colour it using coloured pencils and fussy cut.
Colour the leaves with shades of green Derwent Inktense pencils and blend them out with a watercolour brush pen.
Dry with a heat gun then add further shades of green in the same way.
Lay the leaves over the tag to ascertain placement and colour the background where the leaves sit, blend out with a watercolour brush pen.
Using the Mountains & Hills outer mask, trace along the edge with a Mauve Derwent Inktense pencil and remove the mask.
Drag the colour down with a watercolour brush pen.
Repeat further down the tag.
Continue adding and blending out colour until the mountains are complete.
Add the leaves to the foreground.
Add the robin.
Add shading around the robin and intensify his colouring with the Inktense pencils.
To finish, add a quote using a black pen.
This tag very much reminds me of the Chalet School series of books by Elinor M Brent-Dyer. The bible verse is quoted in more than one of her books and one of the chief characters is also known as The Robin.

New Baby Card for a Girl

A card I made for all to sign for a colleague going on maternity leave.  The baby has arrived safely and all are well so I am sharing the card today.

Trees and Their Mantels: Ideas and Inspiration

The Trees and their Mantels stamps from Clarity Crafts are a lovely and versatile stamp set.  Here are some ideas and inspiration using them.

They are great for creating mini scenes (see HERE).

Daily Journal Round Up: The End is in Sight

The countdown to the end of the year continues.  I have been using up more of my 6" x 6" paper pads, stickers, die cuts and toppers.  As always each page is completed with one or more of the fabulous words stickers from Clarity - five collections to choose from.

I started the month with the last of my tree tile pages.

WOYWW 702: A Bit of a Slip

Typing mostly one handed today as I join in with WOYWW thanks to injuring my left hand on Monday.  I managed to trip over the top step going into school and landed on my left hand with two fingers bent right back.  Luckily when I had it checked out at the walk in centre (thanks to hubby picking me up), there were no broken bones but soft tissue damage, swelling and pain.  I managed to get my wedding ring off with some difficulty so managed to avoid having it cut off.

My desk shows what I will be using for the next lot of #dailychallenge2022 pages in my kraft journal.

I will be back in work today having been to collect my car yesterday evening.  Probably not doing much marking for the next week until things are a little less painful as it is of course my writing hand that I damaged.
Please join in over at Stamping Ground where Julia hosts What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday each week.  Stay safe everyone.
