Geisha SHAC Doodle Cards: Two Projects, One Stamp Set

When I first saw these stamps the first thing that went through my head was this famous song from The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan.  Luckily the masks that come with the stamps made it an easy job.

Trim a piece of Clarity stencil card to 6.75” x 6.75”. Use the 4.5” nested square die to cut a section from the centre to create a frame. Trim the remaining piece to 4” x 4”.
Stamp the geisha into the centre of the topper using Onyx black Versafine ink.
Mask off the geisha and add a further one either side in the same ink. Remove the mask.
Colour the geishas using Faber Castell watercolour pencils, blended out with a watercolour brush pen. Add touches of Derwent Inktense for additional vibrancy, blend out in the same way.
Use the Tall Letterbox Infill stamp set to add Three Little Maids in different coloured Distress Oxides to the frame.
Using the Tall Letterbox Alphabet and Numbers Outline stamps, outline the lettering in Onyx Black Versafine ink.
Add a small cherry blossom into the top corners of the frame in the same ink as before.
Colour them as the geishas.
Add the frame to the front of a 7” x 7” black card blank.
To finish, add the geisha topper into the centre of the frame.
For the second project with the same stamp set, I went in a different direction and kept things monochrome on kraft card.

Cut a 5” x 5” kraft card blank in half. Add the cherry blossom frame from Barbara’s Geisha Doodle stamp set in Versamark ink and heat emboss with detail white embossing powder.
Add the verse from the To the World poetry frame set into the centre in the same manner.
Add some of the butterflies from the geisha set in the same way.
Die cut a mat from Clarity stencil card using the 5.25” nested square picot die and mat the two pieces together.
Lay the toper into the centre of a 7” x 7” kraft card blank. Stamping directly onto the front o the card blank, add the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Entwined Sentiments set around the edges. Stamp in Versamark ink and heat emboss with detail white embossing powder.
Add one of the small cherry blossom stamps from the Geisha set into the corners in the same manner.
To finish, add the topper to the front of the card.
