This is my contribution to the latest challenge over on Tag Tuesday (Add a Saying/Quote). As you will see, I used a quote from the bible.
Trim
a little off either side of a #8 manilla tag so it measures 3” in
width. Add a piece of inky deli paper to the tag, seal it with matte
medium, dry thoroughly and trim the excess.
Use the thanks 3” x 3” aperture die from Clarity with stencil card.
Remove the leaves from the die cut with scissors.
Stamp the robin (ClarityNDC #86) onto another piece of stencil card in Onyx Black Versafine ink.
Colour it using coloured pencils and fussy cut.
Colour the leaves with shades of green Derwent Inktense pencils and blend them out with a watercolour brush pen.
Dry with a heat gun then add further shades of green in the same way.
Lay the leaves over the tag to ascertain placement and colour the
background where the leaves sit, blend out with a watercolour brush pen.
Using the Mountains & Hills outer mask, trace along the edge with a Mauve Derwent Inktense pencil and remove the mask.
Drag the colour down with a watercolour brush pen.
Repeat further down the tag.
Continue adding and blending out colour until the mountains are complete.
Add the leaves to the foreground.
Add the robin.
Add shading around the robin and intensify his colouring with the Inktense pencils.
To finish, add a quote using a black pen.
This tag very much reminds me of the Chalet School series of books by
Elinor M Brent-Dyer. The bible verse is quoted in more than one of her
books and one of the chief characters is also known as The Robin.
