A Colourful Tag

The prompt over on Try it on Tuesday is Make it Colourful.  I thought this project using Neocolor II crayons fitted the bill.

I attached a gesso coated coated tag to the back of the 7" x  7" Double Bubble stencil using low tack tape.
I then chose a rainbow of colours from top to bottom and drew around each bubble using different crayons, scribbling within each area to ensure there was plenty of colour to work with.  With the stencil still in place, I then used a water brush to blend out all the colours; I was a little over enthusiastic in places and the colour seeped under the stencil.  However I was pleased with the way that the colours blend so easily.
I dried off the tag with a heat gun, then added additional colours in the same tone as the originals around the edge of each bubble, ready for further blending.
I kept using the water brush, adding further colour and blending until I was happy with the look.

The next stage was to draw around each bubble with the black Neocolor II, scribble additional colour into the areas in between the bubbles and blend out the black with a water brush, adding further depth where necessary until I was happy with the result.
Finally, I stamped the love birds from the Wee Folk 6 Wedding stamp set and the cat from the Birdhouse Garden stamp set into two of the bubbles using Black Soot Archival ink.  To intensify the colour, I went over each stamped image with a 0.5 Micron black pen.
