#dailyart2025: First Month Finished

I have kept up this year's resolution of a small watercolour drawing each day in a Clarity Petite Journal as part of my #dailyart2025.  Here are the pages for the second half of January.

I broke out my Neocolor II watercolour crayons for this one.
I copped out by adding a hedge (Neocolor II).

Pablo Picasso Portrait inspired Journal Page

This week's prompt over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More is Inspired by Portraits.  The artists to choose from include Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo.  As I have previously created a page inspired by Frida Kahlo (see HERE) and I am not the most confident portrait drawer, I went with Pablo Picasso, using an image from Nina's YouTube video as my starting point.

Found Poem Tag

The fact that this tag contains a found poem is totally fortuitous, as it was the last thing that I added.  This tag was created for the September challenge over on Tag It Tuesday.  At least two of four given prompts have to be used.  This month the prompts are: 1 Make straight lines, 2 Scribble, 3 Rip text page and 4 Add blue.  One way or another I've managed all four this month for a change.

Opposites: Day and Night

Having made the first of my Festive pages last week for Art Journal Prompts, I decided to go back and complete the previous prompt: Opposites.  This brings me nearly up to date.  Once I have completed the last three festive pages, I will have completed all 52 prompts for 2017.

Journal52 Week 16: Rise

For the Journal52 group with Effy Wild, where you can find additional prompts.  The success of my previous attempt at free painting led me to attempt another page using the same format; acrylics (finger painted), Neocolor II for detail and a stamped/printed quote.  Not sure if I like this one quite as much as the first page (see HERE), but I can but keep trying.  The quote by Mario Fernandez is the inspiration for the painting.

Journal52 Week 15: Soft

Since the start of the year, I have been joining in with the Journal52 prompts by Effy Wild.  To find out more, and to join in yourself, you can check out her page HERE.  This week the prompt was 'soft', and for the first time ever, I created the whole page (except for the quote) myself.  It is the first time that I have created a picture/painting without using stamps or stencils for help; while I know that I have a long way to go with my painting and lots to improve on, I am really proud of my first attempt.

Mission Inspiration: March 2017

Here is my Mission Inspiration art journal challenge page for March 2017.  The prompt colours were green, yellow and brown and I chose the word 'Spring' from the choice of five given. There were a series of eight steps to follow.

Bubble Stencil Tag

I had a new medium arrive in the post, so I wanted to play with it as soon as possible.  Neocolor II are water soluble wax pastels; there are 120 colours in total, but I decided to start with the tin of 30. As usual if I just want to see how things work quickly, I decided to work on a #8 manilla tag which I had previously covered with a light coat of white gesso and dried with a heat gun.  I was delighted with the end result and will definitely be using these frequently in the future.
