A Happy Journal Page: Brushos and Stamping

This page was created for the March challenge over on Mixed Media Art Journey.  The prompts were: create a page; use yellow; add a pocket; word of the day; add pattern and rip/cut/tear edge.
To make the page, I cut a piece of mixed media card to 7" x 10".  The page was spritzed with water then Brushos in Yellow Ochre, Gamboge, Yellow and Lemon were sprinkled onto the surface.  Another couple of spritzes with water and the page was dried with a heat gun.
I repeated the step, this time minus the Gamboge Brusho; adding Straw Yellow and Sun Yellow Pixie Powders by Cosmic Shimmer.
Three of the stamps from the Journaling set by Claritystamp were used to add a pattern.  They were stamped in Dandelion and Sunflower Archival inks.
To add the pocket, I used the Pocket stamp from Clarity (NDC Back Order 91) and stamped it using Potting Soil Archival ink onto a spare piece of mixed media card.  I then used the Spots mask and the Mountains and Hills mask (also from Claritystamp) to mask off areas while colour was added.  For the dunes I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and Cinnamon Tea Artistry ink. The sky was coloured in Cranberry Crush and Blaze Artistry inks with a little Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxides. Additional detail was added using Neocolor II water soluble crayons and a water brush.  Once coloured, the pocket was fussy cut and added to the page.
My 'Word of the Day' was 'Happy' which is one of the bare basic words from Papermania/Docrafts that come in sets of three.  I coloured it using a Kuretake Clean Colour brush pen in Geranium Red, before adding it to the page.
For the final prompt, 'rip/cut/tear edge' I chose to tear a strip off the top of the page.
Before adding it into my journal, I coloured the base page using Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide.  I am indeed 'Happy' with the finished page.

You are a bit braver with the brusho's than me. Lovely colourful piece of work. Like the addition of the pocket. X
