Distress Oxide Backgrounds: ATCs

These are the ATCs that I made for the March swap over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The prompt letter was S and as always I used only Claritystamp stamps and masks.  All the stamping was done in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed using detail clear powder.  The backgrounds were all created using Distress Oxides and the images were coloured using Ecoline pens by Royal Talens.
The first ATC (2.5" x 3.5") was stamped using the Shell stamp which came with the monthly New Design Club newsletter 103; it is available on the Claritystamp site.
Having created a mask for the image, I blended Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers over the background, spritzed with water, dried and removed the mask.
The shell was coloured in a combination of yellows and light brown Ecoline pens scribbled onto a glass mat and picked up with a water brush.
Finally the 'S' was added using the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet and the rest of the label written with a black 05 Sakura micron pen.
The swing stamp for the second ATC was also one of the monthly New Design Club stamps (130).  The foliage at the top comes from the Birdhouse Garden stamp set.
This time Broken China and Salty Ocean Oxides were used for the sky with Peeled Paint added at the bottom.  The colours were blended, spritzed with water and dried as before.
The lettering was also added in the same way each time to help tie the three ATCs together.
For the final ATC I decided to reverse the colour palette.  I stamped, embossed and masked off two of the shoe stamps from the Claritystamp set of the same name.
This time I used yellow and brown Oxides in the background; Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey and Vintage Photo.
The shoes were coloured in using shades of blue and green Ecoline pens.
The same stamping and lettering finished things off to match the other ATCs.
