Steampunk Tags

The theme for the March tag swap over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art is Steampunk.  I already had one completed tag in my stash which was suitable for the swap (see HERE for step by step), but decided to be a bit more daring with the colours on the second.

Rainbow Doodle!

This piece was completed for Explore Your Creativity Challenge 9 over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  I created it in anticipation of our 4000th member as we are very close to achieving this milestone.  Please feel free to come and join a very friendly and supportive group of creative people, led by Louise Withers.  The prompts were 'Doodle', 'Ink' and 'Rainbow'.

Distress Oxide Backgrounds: ATCs

These are the ATCs that I made for the March swap over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The prompt letter was S and as always I used only Claritystamp stamps and masks.  All the stamping was done in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed using detail clear powder.  The backgrounds were all created using Distress Oxides and the images were coloured using Ecoline pens by Royal Talens.

Springtime Tags

These tags were made for the February swap over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The prompt was Springtime and I decided to create the backgrounds in a similar manner to the talented Lou Withers having watched her Facebook Live video on the subject.

ATCs: M is for...

These ATCs were made for the February swap over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art; the prompt was the letter 'M'.  As I always stick to using Claritystamp stamp sets to create my ATCs I had a good look through my folders to see what I could come up with.  In the end I went with M is for 'Madonna', 'Mouse Mystery' and 'Marriage'.

Art Journal Page: In the Style of Klimt?

This journal page was produced in response to the Explore Your Creativity Challenge 6 over on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The technique to be used was the style of Klimt; the colour was to be predominantly gold and the product to be included was texture paste.  It's not my favourite piece, but I am determined to share all my art this year, whether I love it or not!  My influence for this piece was Klimt's Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer.

E is for... ATCs: Part Two

This is the second set of three ATCs for the January prompt 'E' which I sent to my swap partner on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  All stamps and masks used are by Claritystamp which means that I had to get a little creative with some of my ideas for the prompt letter, once I had used the more obvious ones.  Once again, all the stamping was done using Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed using detail clear embossing powder.

E is for... ATCs: Part One

This is the first set of ATCs that I created for the January swap on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  My swap partner was quicker off the mark than I was and I received 6 rather than the 3 ATCs that I was expecting, as well as some gorgeous happy mail from her.  I therefore created a second set of three to add to my package which I will share tomorrow.  As usual, I used Claritystamp masks and stamps to create my ATCs.  The prompt letter for January was E.

Home Made Washi Tape Tag

The home made washi tape was made for a challenge; Explore Your Creativity 5 with Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  For the challenge you had to use the technique of layering, the product home made washi tape and keep it monochrome; all on a tag.  I love what I ended up with and will certainly be creating my own washi tape again!  I am also entering it into the Anything Goes January Challenge on Country View Challenges.

Fairytale Tag Swap

These tags were made in response to the December tag swap on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The theme was Fairy Tales and I decided to use some of my Sheena Douglass stamps (and a matching die) to create a pair of tags which go together.

ATC Swap: V is for...

These were made for the monthly Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art ATC Swap.  The prompt for December was V and my swap partner has kindly given me permission to share.  As usual for my ATCs, all the stamps used are by Claritystamp.

Masterboard Journal Page

Usually when I create a master board it is then cut into smaller pieces and used for different projects.  This master board was created for the 4th Explore Your Creativity Challenge with Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art and was used instead to create an art journal page.  The technique to use was create a master board, the product was paint and the colour, yellow.

First and Latest Tag, Canvas, Journal Page

I decided to have a look back to my first and latest pieces of art work in different categories; tags, canvasses and art journal pages.  I don't have any pictures of the very first card that I made, although I do have some of my early attempts and I have come a long way over the last twelve years.  I have only been art journaling for two years and tags are also a relatively recent obsession.  I haven't created many canvas pieces and that is one of my resolutions for 2018; to work on canvas more often.  Anyway... on with the show...
Latest tag
1st tag WIP

My first tag eventually ended up as a topper for a card as I didn't see tags as stand alone pieces of art at the time.  Now I use them for bookmarks and I am part of a swap group and they are my 'go to' format for quick pieces of art.

First
Latest
My first canvas (of 5 only at this point) was created for a challenge on the Claritystamp page and I later used the same layout to create a card front. My latest canvas was created for the recent ITAC world challenge (Europe) and I was far more adventurous with the use of white space.

First Mission Inspiration
I am a member of various art journaling groups; Mission Inspiration, JJJAMA and Art journal prompts.  This is now one of my favourite forms of crafting and I have pages I love and ones I am not so keen on, but I won't give up!

Challenge: Resist, Ink, Bronze

I created this tag in response to the prompts for Explore Your Creativity Challenge 3 on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful art.  Usually I create an art journal page, but I decided to go with a tag for a change.  The prompts include a technique: resist, a product: ink and a colour: bronze.  I am also entering it into the December challenge on Country View Challenges: Christmas.

Stamping - Collage - Green

This page was created in response to the second Explore your Creativity challenge on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The colour had to be predominantly green and stamping and collage had to be part of the process.  I had fun working within these constraints and the quote chips used as the finishing touch describe both the process, and the lack of planning that went into this page.  As the colour is green, I am also entering this into the fortnightly That's Crafty Challenge 'Green with Envy'.

ATC Swap: T is for...

I can finally share the ATCs that I made for the November swap with Junk Journal junkies and Mindful Art.  The theme was 'T' and, as always,  I worked with stamps from my extensive Claritystamp collection.  All the stamping was done with Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Stencil Fun

This piece was created for the first Explore Your Creativity challenge on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The challenge was to use stencilling and texture paste with the colour blue.  As it involves so much stencilling, I am also entering it into the current challenge on the That's Crafty Challenge Blog (Stencil It!) as well as the Country View Challenge for November (Stencils).

Blackout a Colourful Background

This page was created for Challenge 40 on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art.  The prompt was fire and the colours to be used were red, orange and black.  I decided to create a colourful background in reds and oranges and then use black around masked off areas.  I was inspired by the following quote image, so thanks to the unknown artist.

Don't Be Chicken!

When I saw the prompt for Challenge 39 on Junk Journal Junkies and Mindful Art: Chicken, Turquoise, Green, Red, I immediately knew which stamps I would be using; the Cockrel and Hen stamps and masks from Claritystamp.
