WOYWW 657: Back To Reality

Happy New Year and welcome to my first WOYWW contribution of 2022.  First day back at work too!  I shall continue to join in each week with Julia and the gang at Stamping Ground.  Newcomers are always welcome so pop over and see what it's all about.

As you can see with the start of 2022 I have set myself a new daily challenge.  I will be using up all the scraps, left over die cuts and bits and pieces of stamping to create a daily 5 minute journal page.  I can't allow much longer on work days so I need to plan those the day before.  I spent New Year's Eve sorting through my scrap box and sorting things into groups and files.

For LLJ!

I did finish my daily drawing challenge for 2021 so it will be good to see how far I get in 2022.

Using one of Shaz's diecuts from the last crop.

I prepare the pages in advance by adding gesso to two pages at a time.  I also like to match the colours and ideas in pages that are opposite each other in the book.  Well I shall be off to work in a while - not much marking to do today compared with a normal Wednesday so can take things relatively quietly.  Be round to visit later or tomorrow morning.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

I like your new daily challenge and it's a great way to use up scraps! I'm a big fan of scarps, as you know - sometimes you just throw a few well-matched scraps together, add a focal point and bingo, you've got a page! Happy New Year, Sarah! xx zsuzsa #25

Good luck with returning to work, I don’t envy you having to juggle the curriculum and kids. Online or in the classroom, it must be a real pain. Love the cards, especially the blue Happy New Year one!
Happy 2022, may it be full of fun and crafting!
Hugs LLJ 6 xxx

I hope the return to school went smoothly, with your organisational skills I can’t imagine it didn’t! I’m delighted that you’ve found another challenge, am beginning to wonder if you’ll enjoy the sorting and bagging preparations as much as making the pages themselves! And the pages are just wow already and you aren’t that many days practiced. Brilliant.

Hi Sarah, admiring your forward-planning and your first pages look very promising, also such a good way to use up those scraps - I have drawers full of those, maybe I'll try a similar idea. Hope you're having a good week back a work. Yes I do spend quite a lot of my wages in the shop, but as one of the main reasons for going back to work after retiring from the NHS last year was to fund my hobbies, I reckon I'm allowed and refuse to feel guilty - well, maybe a teeny bit. I also get to help other people collect crafty stash, so it's double fun :)

Gorgeous journal pages, and using scraps is my thing too plus trying to use all my dies for my scrapping. Did manage to play badminton last night for the first time in 4 months so my wrist is getting there at last too. BJ#22 in 2022

Hi Sarah, your new challenge to your sounds good. You'll live revisiting the pages in the future and it's such a good use for scraps. Five minutes doesn't sound much but when your busy it can be quite a challenge. I have a 'line a day' journal which is already testing me. I thought a line would be a piece of cake too! Have a great weekend. Elizabeth x #28

Happy New Year Sarah, thank you for your visit. Yet another daily challenge? I think mine is getting out of bed just lately. Still we've had a couple of nice days and I've been out for some long walks while I can - I won't be stepping outside the front door if there is snow or ice!! Unfortunately then I'm too tired to do anything else!! Have a good week, stay safe, stay well, love n hugs Cindy xx
