Scrap Tag

I needed a quick piece of art to blog today and the challenge set by Tag Tuesday for the next fortnight (Use Your Scraps) was right up my street.  I never throw mop up sheets and interesting pieces of paper towel away.
I found an off cut of an old gelli plate mop up sheet and a piece of paper towel that I had used to try out stamps on.  They used complementary colours, which was necessary as I was planning on layering them up.  The off cut of mop up sheet was so small that I had to piece it onto the tag in the top right hand corner (if you look closely you can see where I did it), but as it would be covered up, it didn't matter.
The top layer of the paper towel was used as an overlay.  I had been trying out different colours of Archival ink with my Pyrotechnics stamps by The Ton (Plum, Violet and Deep Purple) and these were perfect to coordinate with the bottom layer.
Looking through my die cut box, I found a chip board 'h' or two (I have no idea why I have them or where they came from).  I gave one two coats of Dylusion paint (Pomegranate Seed).
I wanted to tie the letter in with the background, so I used the same stamp as the one on the paper towel, stamped it in Versamark ink over the 'h' and heat embossed using Detail Silver Shine embossing powder by Cosmic Shimmer.
The 'I' from the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet was stamped directly onto the tag in the same manner and then turned into a lower case letter i with the addition of a dot above using an embossing pen and silver embossing powder.  To make it stand out, I went round the letter with a Staedtler Triplus fine liner in dark pink.
To finish, I simply added the 'h' using Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue.
