As soon as I saw this prompt, I knew which quote I wanted to use; unfortunately it is now playing constantly in my head as an ear worm (sorry if it happens to you too)! This page was created for week 35 of art journal prompts: Silhouette.
I started with a piece of mixed media card 19.5cm x 18.5cm and added some drops of Cactus, Mango, Orchid and Volubilis Izink pigment inks which were then brushed out with a 1.5" flat brush and plenty of water. This created an iridescent background.
Next I used the Circle Dot Background stamp by Indigoblu with Manganese Blue, and Vibrant Fuchsia Archival ink to stamp all over the page. I also used Vivid Chartreuse the first time I used the stamp, but felt that it didn't stand out enough against the background, so stuck to the other two colours for the remaining three impressions. I then took the Indigoblu Girl in Profile stencil, drew around the face, lengthening the body and rounding out the head. This was then painted out using Black Marble Dylusions paint but with the left hand side left deliberately ragged rather than the silhouette being taken to the edge of the page. The word 'Silhouetto' was then stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed using detail black embossing powder (Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet). Having printed out the rest of that section of lyrics from Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen using the medium font and my Dymo Letratag, I trimmed them down and laid them in position to get the correct location to stamp and heat emboss the boy/man from Wee Folk 1 by Claritystamp using the same method as for the 'silhouetto' (they were moved before the heat gun was used). Only when all the heat embossing was complete did I stick down the rest of the quote, as the heat gun causes the background of the quote blocks to singe. I then went round the edge of each quote block with a black 05 Micron pen.
