I am late posting today, because I couldn't share this card until the recipient had seen it and also given me permission to share it. I met one of my fellow deskers (WOYWW) for the first time today as she is in our local hospital, having had a fall at a nearby canal lock. I only found out what had happened yesterday through another post on WOYWW, so made her a Get Well card which was delivered today. A lovely, fellow crafter and although we had never met in person before, it was as if we had known each other for years.
I cut a piece of Sheena's stamping card to 16.8cm x 16.8cm and a black mat 17.3cm x 17.3cm to fit on a pre made 17.8cm x 17.8cm white card blank. The jagged circle stencil from the Framer Shapes 2 set by Claritystamp was used to help create the scene. Dry Weed Artistry ink and a hill mask torn from copier paper, together with one of the Claritystamp stencil brushes were used at the bottom and a medium moon mask, stencil brush and Midnight Blue Artistry ink were used to create the sky. A make up sponge was then used to drag some of the excess ink from the stencil into the aperture. The stamping was all done using the Tim Holtz stamp platform and Jet Black Archival ink; the stencil frame was left in place. The hawk is from the Stag Outline stamp set, the stag is from the Woodland Animals set and the two grasses from the Wee Grasses set (all by Claritystamp). Once all the stamping was complete, the stencil was removed. The stencil inner was then used to mask off the scene and Aged Stucco Artistry ink and a make up sponge were used to create a vignette all around it. I took care to get rid of the excess ink on a piece of copy paper and to drag the ink off the mask out onto the card to create the shading. It only remained to add the sentiment from the Salutations set by Woodware, mat the layers up and add them to the front of the card. Get well soon Mrs D!
