Clean and Simple Gouache

For this sample - for the recent Royal Talens shows with Louise Withers on Hochanda - I decided to keep things clean and simple.  I also showed that it is easy to stamp over a Gouache background with archival ink.

Gouache Wash Background

This card was made for the fabulous Louise Withers whose birthday it is today.  I want to show that Gouache paints are not just for mixed media but can also be used successfully in card making and especially for creating wood effect backgrounds.

Spring Birthday Card

This card was inspired by a topper that my friend made using the same stencil.  I decided to make a square card using the same method but with different stamps.

Get Well Wishes

I am late posting today, because I couldn't share this card until the recipient had seen it and also given me permission to share it.  I met one of my fellow deskers (WOYWW) for the first time today as she is in our local hospital, having had a fall at a nearby canal lock.  I only found out what had happened yesterday through another post on WOYWW, so made her a Get Well card which was delivered today.  A lovely, fellow crafter and although we had never met in person before, it was as if we had known each other for years.

Maternity Leave Card

As usual towards the end of a school year, I make cards for the staff to give to celebrate a special occasion.  A colleague will be starting her maternity leave after today and this is the card which I made for everyone to sign.  I kept the colour scheme neutral for obvious reasons.

A Never Ending Card

I haven't made one of these cards for ages, but as they look really impressive and are actually quite easy to make, I decided to have a go at one.  They can be made any size as long as the four pieces for the base card are cut in the ratio 2:1.
First of four aspects

Clean and SImple Birthday Wishes

This card was made for a friend, who often comes and crafts with me.  She is too busy over the next few weeks to make our usual weekly craft sessions and I will miss her company; Happy Birthday and I hope you like your gift too!  I was really pleased with the way that the card turned out.  Full of class, like the recipient.

All the Best, as you 'Head' off.

Yet another leaver's card and a terrible pun.  This particular teacher is very diligent, always has everything organised and is extremely well turned out; I decided on a 'pink' theme, but it took a little experimenting to decide on the final 'topper'.

Paper Mosaic

The idea for this card came after I watched the Quilt Card tutorial by Sue Wilson.

I chose to use shades of blue as I am always being asked for masculine cards.  However, as I didn't have the die that Sue used in her tutorial I had to do things a little differently!
