I created this art journal page for the JJAMMMA challenge Adventure/Exploration. I used recycled packaging for the background as it was too nice to throw away which also fulfils the February criteria for recycling packaging over on The Mixed Media Emporium!
I started by trimming a piece of the stencil packaging from the just Lou collection by Studiolight to 19.5cm x 18.5cm to fit in my spiral bound art journal.
Next, I added the large stamp from the Leonie's Art Circus set (Claritystamp) over the compasses in Coffee Archival ink. Next, I blended Coffee Archival ink around the edges of the background using a foam tool. I followed the dashed lines in the same ink using a smaller stamp from the same set. Next, I added the three ships from the I Saw Three Ships Carol stamp set (Claritystamp) in Jet Black Archival ink. Using the same ink, I added the sentiment from the Leonie's Adventure Circus stamps along the bottom. As the background has a jagged edge along the top, Coffee Archival ink was blended across the top of the page in my journal. Before the background was added, I dragged the Jet Black Archival ink pad along the edges. To finish the page, I added pieces of Tim Holtz design tape from the Travel, Journey and Aristocrat collections.
