The September prompt for Tag It Tuesday is Blue, Yellow, Red. As my new Ecoline pens arrived while I was at work yesterday, I decided to see how they worked in combination with Distress Oxides; my other favourite product.
As usual I worked on a #8 manilla tag. To start with I applied Fossilized Amber, Candied Apple and Faded Jeans Distress Oxides directly onto the tag using a blending tool. This was then spritzed with water and dried with a heat gun.
Next, I pressed each ink pad onto my glass mat, spritzed with water and dragged the tag over the coloured areas. I kept repeating this; drying the tag in between applications and allowing the colour to run occasionally. The Blazing Poppies stamp by IndigoBlu was stamped onto the tag using Versamark ink and heat embossed using detail black embossing powder. I coloured each of the poppies in one of the prompt colours using the Ecoline pens in Scarlet, Ultramarine Deep and Light Yellow/Yellow Ochre using feather like strokes out from the centre of each flower. Once dry, I repeated the process to deepen the colours. It only remained to add a quote from the Small Talk sticker pack by Tim Holtz.
