The prompt for challenge 32 with Junk Journals Junkies and Mindful Art (JJJAMA) was Neon Pink, Bright Green, Black and 90's Rave. I was a very boring person in the 90s and I've never been to a rave in my life; I therefore chose to go in another direction and use my new Tim Holtz ravens stamps and dies instead! I imagined an error reading the prompt (although I didn't include 90 ravens on my page; they wouldn't fit)! I am also entering this page into the September Craft Stamper Take It Make It Challenge: Anything Goes.
I worked on a piece of mixed media card 19.5cm x 18.5cm and scraped on some Reeves Fluorescent Pink paint with an old store card.
Once dry, I added some areas of Pebeo Studio Acrylics Iridescent Green Yellow paint in the same way as this is the brightest green that I have. I then added some more of the bright green using a natural sponge, dabbing the paint on (followed by a little extra pink). I used my Tim Holtz stamp platform for the next step, stamping four of the ravens from the stamp set of the same name designed by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous. I used Vibrant Fuchsia archival ink for this.
I then added the prompt 90's Rave! using the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet for the letters and punctuation and some clear number stamps from my stash. These were stamped using Versamark ink and heat embossed using detail black embossing powder.
I had die cut the two ravens from the Ravens and Feathers Sizzix Thinlits set (designed by Tim Holtz) out of black card. These were now added and sealed onto the page using Matte Distress Collage Medium.
The final step was to print out 'Ohhhh! You said' and 'My bad!' using the small font on my Dymo Letratag; trim down the quote blocks, glue them to the page and add lines all round for emphasis using a Staedtler Triplus black fine liner pen.
