The fortnightly theme for Tag Tuesday is Paris: this is what I came up with using a mix of methods from a previous card (see HERE) and a canvas (see HERE).
I embossed a #8 manilla tag with the French Script embossing Folder by Tim Holtz (Sizzix Alterations). I cut a slit along the fold of the embossing folder (making sure not to cut it in half) to allow the top of the tag to be pushed through and lining up the bottom of the tag with the bottom of the folder.
Next I added Faded Jeans Distress Oxide down the left hand side and Candied Apple Distress Oxide along the right hand side, having already blended Picket Fence Distress ink down the centre. The tag was lightly spritzed with water and dried with a heat gun. The next step was to lightly brush Vintage photo Distress ink (not Oxide) around the edges and over the embossing. I had stamped the Paris Compilation stamp (designed by Tim Holtz for Stamper's Anonymous) onto a piece of Sheena's stamp card, using the Tim Holtz stamp platform and Jet Black Archival ink. I re inked and stamped the image several times to ensure solid colour. This had some Tea Dye Distress ink blended over it and it was then trimmed down to fit one of the Frames from the Docrafts Bare Basics Mixed Frames set. The frame was given a coat of Burnt Sienna Reeves acrylic paint to begin with. Before the picture of the Mona Lisa was actually glued behind the frame, some Bronze acrylic paint was dry brushed over the first coat. Before the framed picture was added to the tag, I removed some of the Tea Dye ink with a water brush and rubbed some 'Nubian' gilding wax over the frame to age it a little more. Three appropriate words from the Big Chat sticker book 'Appreciate', 'Timeless' and 'Beauty' were added. They were chosen, as they not only describe the Mona Lisa, but the city of Paris itself.
