Two Tags for the Price of One!

I've been in the mood to create tags over the last few days; so yesterday I decided to work on a pair; similar, but not identical.  The process and materials used were the same for both, but the end results were different.

I worked on #8 manilla tags and used the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet coloured with Distress Oxides across both of them; gluing and sealing it in place with Distress Collage Medium before drying and trimming both tags.
I then tore some book text from an old library book which had been bought in a sale for that very purpose (a biography of Byron) and added it to both tags but in different locations.

The next step was to add some torn fragments of the Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap (Melange).

This was followed by the addition of some more book text fragments.  At this stage I also added a fragment of the Postale Tissue Wrap to the second tag.

I felt that the tags needed a focal point and chose two of the characters from the Paper Dolls by Tim Holtz.  These were glued into place, sealed with the collage medium, dried and then Faber-Castell Big Brush Markers were used to add shadows all round.

The final step was to add a quote to each tag from the Small Talk sticker collection by Tim Holtz.
