This card was made for my eldest son and his girlfriend, who took possession of their first home together yesterday. I hope they will be very happy there, although I will miss seeing them every day.
As I was working on a 14.8cm square card blank, I cut a piece of Sheena's stamping card to 13.8cm square and a piece of black card to 14.3cm square. I taped the Framework Squares stencil by clarity stamp so that four of the nine apertures were central on the stamping card and taped off around the four sides.
I brushed Artistry inks in Cranberry Crush and Fall Fiesta through the apertures using a Claritystamp stencil brush and once happy dragged the excess ink off the stencil into each square with a make up sponge. I almost forgot to take a photograph of this step as you can see! Keeping the first stencil in place, I laid the Sunshine stencil (also by Claritystamp) over the top and brushed Blaze artistry ink over the whole topper. Once happy, both stencils were removed. I used the Tim Holtz stamp platform for the next step, as I wished to do all the stamping at once, as soon as I had decided on the layout. The stamps are all by Claritystamp and were stamped using Jet Black archival ink. I used the Wired Heart stamp, the couple from Wee Folk1; the word 'Home' from Word Chain 2 and the word 'New' was made up using letters from the Word Chain Alphabet. As I wanted a really solid image, I re inked several times to create depth of colour. It only remained to mat the topper onto the black card and then add the whole thing onto the white base card.
