WOYWW 648: What a Crafty Week!

Well I certainly made the most of my crafty time over the last week.  Welcome to my weekly desk share, linking up with WOYWW via Julia's Stamping Ground (well worth a visit).  Where to start...

Same old same old on my desk, but last Thursday I had a visit from Eva on the other side of the desk.

She was working on parchment pieces while I was mooching around.
On Friday I tried my hand at needle felting for the first time at a workshop taught by Tilly Tea Dance.
It was really great to meet her for the first time face to face and also catch up with Twiglet.  I learnt a great deal and may just be hooked lol.
These are just some of the gorgeous samples we had to inspire us as we worked.

Yesterday I drove up to Manchester to meet up with the JJAMMMA crowd for the first time in nearly two years.  I travelled light and only took some colouring with me.

I will catch you up with the latest drawings next week as this post is already so long - the last of the #inktober2021 drawings can be found HERE if you can't wait lol.

No meeting after school this evening but I may stay on and get a set of books marked before I come home - I like to get ahead of myself.  Stay safe and happy WOYWW.

Glad you had a great time at the needle felting - it's very addictive isn't it! Looking forward to seeing what you made - the samples are stunning and that's a lovely photo of the three of you. Great to see Eva on the other side of your desk, looks like you had a lovely crafty half term.

Oh Sarah, you are a tease, where is the evidence of this busy week please? I do hope you show us what you made, especially at the needle felting class. Lovely photo of the three of you.
No masks at Jamma? Four friends (jabbed) have Covid at the moment, one is really bad, said she would not wish it on anyone. Makes me worried about not wearing them.

How wonderful that you’ve ventured out twice, it’s almost like real life again! Great pic of you, Twiglet and Max, the samples are gorgeous and I’ve already admired Jo’s. How fab that the other day was just as fun….I really hope that we can do something for WOYWW next year!

Gosh you've been busy out and about, love the needle felting. Had a peek at October's drawings and "collide" made me giggle.

Nice to be back at my desk after the trauma of hand surgery, not completely fixed as my wrist is jolly sore and my thumb isn't moving fully yet, could be a few more months but I can do most things again just need to be jolly careful. BJ#15

Thanks for your lovely comments Sarah. It means so much to me to feel loved by so many friends and I'm sure it has helped in my recovery.

I see from FB thst you’ve had a nasty cold, hope you’re feeling better daily. I wondered if you’d enjoy the felting, I had a go at a taster session a couple of years ago when I was staying with Jan. It’s not for me, but I LOVE the results! Great to see Eva and fab to have had a JJAMMMA meet at last, must have been so nice to see what they’re all up to, I know we’ve had zoom etc, but there’s nothing like the real thing! I note that you haven’t shown us your felted sample……are you saving it? Don’t stay too late at school!

Great felting! I enjoyed it once but found the initial laying out and rubbing very messy.
Good to see Eva again

So glad you had Eva over for a session, Sarah, and your day away looked a lot of fun too - gorgeous needle felting! - also fun to meet up with fellow WOYWWers, which is something that I rarely get to do, unfortunately. I did pop over to your other post to catch up with your drawings as I couldn't resist. "Collide" was my favourite - made me smile out loud!

Thanks for your return visit, Sarah, and for your good wishes for our health. My hubby has had a colonoscopy in the past and knows the ropes, and our hospital is very, very good so no worries really. The kitties are feeling the cold and wanting to sit on us all the time!! I am so glad you liked all my cards, particularly the offcuts one - funny that that one should be inspired by my messy desk covered with little scraps - there is virtue in mess sometimes, isn't there!

Hi Sarah! The felting looks beautiful! I did a felting class years ago, bought all the stuff for it, and it's still sitting there waiting to be used. :-( Oh well. Maybe you will be more successful. How nice for you to be able to meet up with your group! I'm sure you had lots to talk about, catching up after 2 years! Thanks for your visit, sorry I'm so late...Lindart #23

Sorry I'm so later...it's wednesday again already! What fun to meet up with every one! The lady that helps out at the Pet Shop is a 'felter' too. She makes amazing animals and has made a good business out of it. Happy last weeks WOYWW! ((Lyn))#24
