Distress Oxide Journal Tag: Be Positive or Be Quiet

The latest mini mission prompt over on Mission Inspiration is 'Quiet'.  I had fun embellishing a tag with a Distress Oxide background for my tag journal.
I used a #8 manilla tag from my stash which I had previously experimented on using some of the latest Distress Oxides (see HERE).  For this one I had used Tea Dye, Old Paper and Ground Espresso.
I chose several of the Eureka Pop-ems from Creative expressions as well as two screw heads from the Fix It set.  Once all the centres had been popped out, i gave them all a coat of black gesso.
Next, I applied a layer of Ground Espresso Distress paint and dabbed on a little greyish blue Amsterdam acrylic paint (#563).
To finish, some of the Vintage Blue and Golden Light gilding waxes from Creative Expressions were also dabbed on in places to add further interest and tie in with the colours in the background.
Using the Word Chain Alphabet from Claritystamp to form the prompt word 'Quiet', I stamped using Versamark ink and heat embossed with a detail black EP.
Most of the Pop-ems were then added to the tag using the Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue.
I found all the words that I needed to make up the rest of my quote in the Big Chat sticker book by Tim Holtz idea-ology.
In the end I decided to add the second screw head Pop-em as a full stop.  By angling the two pieces appropriately, the top one reinforces the 'positive' image and the bottom one 'quiet'.
