A Motivational Card

This card was made for 5000 members Challenge 5 over on Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art.  I used a piece of card that was used to clean up my brayer for a project using my Golden Hi Flow Acrylic paints.

As I was making another project on a canvas, I cleaned off my brayer onto a piece of Clarity coated card.  This built up layers of colour without wasting any paint and also transferred some of the canvas texture onto the card.  I used three colours of Golden Hi Flow acrylic paint: Pthalo Green, Teal and Ultramarine Blue.

Turning the A5 sheet on its side,  I used the Floral die from the Zigzag and Floral Verso die set by Tonic studios to cut three panels side by die, matching up the pattern as I went.  I then trimmed the larger panel leaving a narrow border on each side.
I cut a piece of black paper slightly larger than the die cut topper and laid the panel over it, marking off several of the leaf shapes using a pencil.  I then removed the panel and painted over each marked area with Iridescent Copper Golden Hi Flow acrylic paint.
I repeated the process using Iridescent Silver.
And finally, Iridescent Gold.
I then glued the panel into place, lining up all the apertures with the painted areas underneath.

Next, I added the matted panel onto a 7" x 7" pre made white card blank, trimming the bottom and sides to leave an equal mat each side (approx 6.25" x 6.75").
Using the second and third smallest Stitched Flags dies (Sue Wilson), I die cut a panel for my sentiment.  I added peel off letters to spell out 'You Can!'  having coloured the letters in the closest shade Sharpie pen to Phthalo Green that I could find.
Finally,  I added some of the Iridescent Silver and Copper paints to a metal Butterfly/Flower that I had received in happy mail from a fellow JJAMMMA member.  Once dry, the embellishment was added to the left hand side of the tag using Super Thick Slap It On by IndigoBlu.
