Rainbow Dogs: MDF ATCs and Holder: Part One

I won this MDF ATC box and ATCs blank in a challenge with Louise Withers.  It seemed only apt that I used it for a DT piece for the Royal Talens shows on Hochanda today at 12pm and 4pm.  They should be available on catch up for two weeks if you miss them.  I will share the step by step for the box today and the contents tomorrow.
I started by gluing the four sides of the box to the cover using Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue.
This forms the container for the 6 MDF ATCs.
After a base coat of gesso, the box was given a coat of  Amsterdam Acrylic paint inside and out (#318 / Carmine). The key shape was decorated using Versamark ink and detail gold embossing powder.
Next came some highlights in Pyrrole Red (#316).
I was planning to use some of the Crazy Dog characters by Tim Holtz for decoration and stamped them onto Sheena's stamping card using Jet Black archival ink.
Once the dogs had been coloured in using my Royal Talens Ecoline pens, I die cut them with the matching dies from Sizzix, matted them up and added elements from the Crazy Things stamp and die sets for extra detail.
Before adding the dog to the cover,  I stamped a variety of stamps from the IndigoBlu Collector's Edition onto the outside and inside of the cover using various shades of red Archival inks.

The dog was then glued into place on the front.
The word 'Rainbow' was stamped onto the front cover using the Word Chain Alphabet from Claritystamp.  It was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in detail gold EP to match the key.
To finish,  I added my bespoke 'handmade by' stamp from Claritystamp onto the back using the same method.
To see the rest of the rainbow in the form of the 6 ATCs which the box contains, feel free to pop back in tomorrow or watch the shows on Hochanda, where you will hopefully catch a glimpse.
