Hipster Chicken Tag

This tag was created for the November challenge on Mixed Media Art Journey.  I can't resist a tag challenge and I love the Hipster stamps so I decided to use one which fits the colour scheme.
There are six 'dice' which are thrown each month to create a random combination of prompts.  I started with 'Make a tag' and as I have hundreds of #8 manilla tags decided to work on a ready made surface.  One of the prompts was 'Use yellow', and as I had a paper towel mop up sheet with yellow and ochre paint on it I decided to add that to my tag, seal with distress collage medium, dry and trim the edges.
A third prompt was 'Add face'; this is where the Hipster stamps came in.  I chose the chicken as he would be the easiest character to tone in with the background.  He was stamped three times on mixed media card using Jet Black archival ink, die cut (whole character, head, glasses, beak and tie) using the coordinating Sizzix dies and coloured in using a mix of Ecoline pens and Kuretake clean colour pens.  The glasses were heat embossed to provide a shiny finish and the whole character matted up.  Once added to the tag, Big Brush markers were blended around the chicken to provide shading.
Another prompt was 'Rip/cut/tear edge'.  I used my Tim Holtz distressing tool allround my tag to give a torn/aged feel.
'Add border' was easy as I simply darkened the distressed edges using Sepia archival ink.
The final prompt was 'Free quote' so as you can see from the finished picture, I added a quote from the Small Talk sticker set by Tim Holtz.  It was cut into two to fit on the tag; job done!
