I created this tag for the November mini mission on Mission Inspiration (theme 'Horizon'), but as I have only used their stamps I will be adding it to the November challenge for Visible Image too (Make a Tag). I like to play with words and images so that they fit together so the layout was easy once I'd found the quote to go with the 'Horizon' prompt.
As always, I completed my mini mission on a #8 manilla tag. I started by adding the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet, which had been used on a 'bleeding tissue' background, sealing it with Distress Collage Medium, drying and trimming all round.
To intensify the colours and make the background softer, I added Gelatos in toning colours, blending them out with my fingers.
Having found the quote, I had the perfect 'eye' stamp to sit across the width of the tag and act as the horizon. It is from the Where Dreams Take You set by Visible Image and was stamped using my Tim Holtz stamp platform in Cobalt Blue Archival ink. I was stamping onto a difficult surface and wanted to ensure that the stamped image would be deep enough in colour by stamping several times.
Finally, to reinforce the idea of the eye acting as the horizon in line with the quote, I printed out the words (increasing the size of the print with each line) using my Dymo Letratag. I deliberately printed onto the clear plastic tape rather than white paper, as I wanted to be able to see the background behind the words.
