The prompt for week 48 of Art Journal Prompts is 'Circles'; I decided to go with an abstract response.
I worked on a piece of mixed media card cut to 18.5cm x 19.5cm. The first layer was created with the Gel Petite circle plate using Artistry ink in Morning Dew, Aqua Fusion, Tenacious teal and Ocean Reef. The gel plate was used on a mega mount as a stamp and the ink was smoothed with a Speedball brayer before being added in both first and second generation overlapping images.
The next layer was added using Ocean Reef (top) and Aqua Fusion (bottom) brushed through the bubbles stencil by IndigoBlu. The same two ink colours were used with a selection of the Limor Circles stamps by IndigoBlu. The mesh circle stamps from the same set added further texture. Each pattern is available in three sizes; perfect for every spot. Once again, both first and second generation stamping was employed.
Finally, the word 'Circles' was added in Manganese Blue archival ink using the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet.
