I started by gluing the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet onto a #8 manilla tag; sealing, drying and trimming all round. This is one of my favourite techniques for creating a quick background.
I then added a piece of a dictionary page from an old Cassell's German-English dictionary down the right hand side in the same manner.
To colour the dictionary page and to add extra intensity to the left hand side of the tag I used Distress Crayons in Blueprint Sketch, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and a little Mustard Seed. On a separate piece of Sheena's stamping card I stamped one of the stamps from the Bookworm set by Darkroom Door. I used Royal Talens Ecoline pens directly onto the stamp then fussy cut round the image. I tried out a couple of images from the Paper Dolls collection by Tim Holtz before deciding which one to add.
