Adding Stamping to a Candle using the Ornate Filigree Swirl Stamps

Maria Moorhouse can be seen at 9am, 1pm and 5pm today  on Hochanda with these ornate swirl stamps from Claritystamp.  The designs are also available as Groovi plates fro parchment work.  For my first project, I decided to decorate a candle.

Cut a piece of plain white tissue paper to fit the height and circumference of the candle you are using. Stamp the Leafy Filigree Swirls in Onyx Black Versafine ink on the shiny side of the tissue paper, add in some of the wee fairies in the same ink. Finish by adding two of the sentiments from the stamp set.
Colour the scrolls in dark red and pink watercolour pencils. Colour on both sides of the tissue paper to intensify the depth of colour.
Cut a piece of wax paper slightly wider and longer than the tissue paper. Wrap the tissue paper round the candle shiny side outwards. Wrap the wax paper tightly over the top with the wax side inwards. Using a heat gun and starting at one end of the tissue paper gently heat the wax paper until the tissue paper sinks into the candle. Move the heat gun around the candle heating evenly until all the tissue paper has been sealed to the candle. Gently peel back the wax paper.
The candle can be kept as a decoration or used as intended as the tissue paper is embedded under a layer of wax.
