Stamping on Parchment: Funky Hare

This is the first time I have tried stamping on the Clarity designer parchment, even though I have seen Barbara Gray do it many times.  I used the new Cherry Green Funky Hare stamp from Claritystamp for my foray into the unknown.

Cut a piece of the Shenandoah designer parchment in half (4” x 8”). Stamp the funky hare onto the front of the parchment (matt side) in Acorn Archival ink. Allow to dry thoroughly.
With the parchment on a hard surface and the white end of the eraser pencil, gently remove colour from the back of the parchment (shiny side).
Colour in the berries on the back of the parchment in red, the holly leaves in dark green and the nose, ears, eyebrows and fronds in red brown.
Blend the colours using a little pencil blending solution and a Pergamano blending pen and nibs.
Attach the parchment to a piece of stencil card (7” x 4”) using small dark green brads in each corner. Trim the excess parchment.
Mat onto a piece of dark brown card (7” x 11cm) leaving a narrow border down each side.
Stamp the mini Happy Birthday sideways directly onto the front of a 7” x 7” kraft card blank. Use Versamark ink and heat emboss with detail copper powder.
Add the holly stamp in the same manner in the bottom right hand corner and mask off.
Continue adding holly up the right hand side of the card front in the same way, remembering to remove the mask before adding embossing powder and heating.
Glue the hare panel into place on the left of the card front.
To finish, colour the leaves with aqua perga liners and blend out the colour with a water brush.
