There has been and will be lots of gallivanting this week. Yesterday I was up in Stockport at the monthly JJAMMMA (Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art) meet up and on Friday, Eva and I will be heading off 'oop North' for the Clarity Open Day at Leyburn, N. Yorkshire on Saturday. I had to leave the meet up early, as it so happened that #1 son and his girlfriend were arriving back at Manchester airport yesterday afternoon and I was able to combine catching up with friends with the airport run.
My desk this week shows the new technique that I was shown by a first time meeter-upper, Tom, at the JJAMMMA get together. It is done with a gel plate. Dye based ink is spread over the plate with a brayer and then Brushos mixed with water are spattered on top. A print is then taken. It's a brilliant technique and you can never predict exactly what you will get. This was my attempt and I will certainly be playing some more. Thanks Tom!
As it was also our fortnightly get together, I grabbed a shot of the other side of the desk yesterday morning. Eva was playing with her new Floral Alphabet stamps from Clarity.
So why am I sharing a view of my desk. It is of course to join in over at The Stamping Ground with Julia and the rest of the WOYWW crew. Please feel free to visit desks or even join in yourself.
No progress on the shed this week. It has simply been too wet to get anything done since #3 son got over the lurgy. Maybe next week...

Ooh, I think I did that technique with Lavinia at Ally Pally - yes, interesting results! Trouble is when you start playing you en up with a million backgrounds. Have a wonderful time gallivanting around!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #15
Hi Sarah, have a fab time at the retreat, I know Marg is going. The ink & Brusho technique is great, if you are interested, Tracy Dutton from Lavinia stamps has done some videos doing this, They are fab. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
The gel technique is lovely but something that I have not taken on. I have a craft room full of "stuff" and try not to purchase too much more. But like all crafters, this doesn't happen much! Happy WOYWW!

You sure get around, Sarah - where do you find the energy to do all this travelling? Good that you were able to combine your meet up with the airport pick up, even if it meant you had to leave early. Hopefully the plane wasn't late - otherwise it would have been annoying! The gelli technique looks interesting. I've got some Brushos but I don't think I've ever used them - other than trying them when they first arrived. They're one of many of my underappreciated supplies! Have fun at the Clarity event on Friday. zsuzsa #17
Gallivanting and flouncing around are wonderful past times. Your gelly plate creation resembles a beautiful watercolour,

The Gelli plates are an amazing piece of kit and I have had great fun using them but I find that when I get it out I find it difficult to stop and put it away, just can't stop once I get started Lol! Hope you have a lovely creative week and a very happy woyww, Angela x13x

Hi Sarah, ooh pulling a print of inks with watercolor on the gel press is not something I have tried. ( I think all mine have been acrylic paint pulls so far) so, I love the colors of that background you made too :) ~Stacy #21

Ahhh Sarah, this one of reasons like WOYWW, learning things.. using gelli plate for brushos, who’d have thought, must reread that and hopefully stick it in my brain I’m so bad at suing my gelli plate!
Glad you’re catching up with Eva, son and also a gallivanting with Clarity folk.
Happy WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #14

That sounds an interesting technique, going to try it.
Sorry I’m late. I’m seriously wandering if your shed will see a topcoat before next summer, good grief hasnt there been a lot of rain! I love the pic of Eva’s side of the desk and her hands gently hovering, apparently out of the way! Hope you enjoy Saturday, you certainly deserve A mini break!
