Paper Piecing as an Alternative to Colouring

Yesterday I shared a tag using paper piecing in place of colouring a stamped image (see HERE).  It was the test piece for this larger scene which became an art journal page.  The designer papers from Claritystamp provide a wealth of choice for this technique.
Take a piece of 8” x 8” designer paper from the Northern Lights designer paper pad. Stamp the tendrils of the jellyfish along the bottom in Versamark ink and heat emboss in silver embossing powder.
Stamp the seahorse three times onto an off-cut of Rainbow River designer paper in Coffee Archival ink and fussy cut.
Stamp the Faith character onto water colour card in Antique Linen Distress Oxide, mask off and add the legs in the same ink.
Stamp the body onto an off-cut of the same paper as the seahorses and fussy cut the dress.
Stamp the head onto the back of a piece of Indian Summer paper and fussy cut the eyes and hair.
Colour the face, arm, neck, shoulder and leg directly on the water colour card using Kuretake Clean Colour pens.
Add the fussy cut items and cut out the entire figure.
Mat the background onto stencil card cut down to 8.5” x 8.5”.
Add the figure.
To finish the art journal page, add the seahorses and one of the printed sentiments.

What a fantastic way of over coming the colouring.
