As my husband's birthday is on Christmas Eve, I took a rest from Christmas projects and made a gift tag for his present. Once again I played with my Ecoline pens from Royal Talens and stamps from Claritystamp.
I used the same techniques that I did for my Christmas gift tag the other day (see HERE). This time however, I built up layers of colour on the paper towel mop up sheet using shades of deep yellow and orange Ecoline pens scribbled on my glass mat, misted with water and cleaned up with paper towel. Once happy with the intensity of the colours, I added the top layer, now dry, onto a #8 manilla tag and trimmed the edges.
Using the background stamp which comes in the Douglas stamp set from Claritystamp, I coloured directly onto the stamp using my black Ecoline pen and added it across the tag.
Douglas himself was stamped in Antique Linen Distress Oxide onto stamping card. My husband is very tall (6' 7" / 206cm) so this was the perfect stamp for his gift tag.
Once again, I created a watercolour effect by scribbling Ecoline pens onto my glass mat, picking up the colours with my water brush and colouring the image so the lines fade into the background. Once fussy cut, I went round the edges of the image with the Warm Grey pen.
Douglas was then added to the tag. To finish, I stamped My (Mini Word Chains 1&2) and Darling (Mini Word Chains 9&10) using Versamark ink and heat embossed with black EP. Now I just have to get the gift to go with the tag lol.
