I am slowly catching up with past prompts over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More. November was Art Movements and week 4 was Abstract: Creating backgrounds using a squeegee. Here is my art journal response.
I started by using repositionable tape to add the deckle circle stencil inner (Claritystamp) to a piece of mixed media card (18.5cm x 19.5cm). I added a layer of Dylusions Crushed Grape with a Ranger squeegee. Next came Laidback Lilac but using the edge of the squeegee to add lines of paint. A little After Midnight was added using the same method. And finally touches of Periwinkle Blue before the stencil was removed. Having dried the paint a little, white embossing powder was sprinkled over the wet areas and heat embossed. A little ink was blended across the centre (Ocean Reef and Lavender Dash Artistry ink). I used the Word Chain Alphabet from Claritystamp to add the word Abstract (Versamark ink and purple metallic EP). I finished by hand writing the rest of the Jackson Pollock quote which I had found (purple Sakura Everyday micron pen).
