DIfferent Effects Using Water Colour Pens Directly on Stamps

For this card,  I tried different ways of stamping onto watercolour card, having coloured directly onto stamps using the Ecoline water colour brush pens from Royal Talens.  All stamps used are from Claritystamp.
I cut a piece of watercolour card to 13.8cm x 13.8cm.  Ecoline Ultramarine Deep was coloured directly onto the harlequin stamp from the Journaling set and stamped onto the page, adding further colour and repeating several times.
The remaining ink on the stamp was misted with water and stamped multiple times onto another piece of watercolour card.
The process was repeated using the Green Ecoline pen and the script stamp from the same Clarity journaling set.
No water added

For the next layer I switched to the hexagon solid stamp from Sam's Shapes 2 and the Turquoise Blue Ecoline pen.

Next I added the solid diamond shape from Sam's Shapes 1 and used the Grass Green Ecoline pen.

Finally,  I added the solid Rectangle (also from Sam's Shapes set 1) using a Prussian Blue Ecoline pen.

For the sentiment strip,  I cut the grungy background into sections and added the Celebrate Your Birthday mini words from Mini Word Chain 3&4 in Black Ecoline ink.  This time I did not add water and used a stamping platform so I could stamp as many times as necessary to ensure a solid crisp result against the background.  I created two toppers and tried them both against the background to see which one I preferred.
It only remained to mat the background and the sentiment strip onto black paper and add them to a 6" x 6" white card blank.
I love the fact that you can choose a crisp stamped image or a more diffuse, grungy look, just by adding a little water over the ink on the stamp before stamping it onto the same type of card.
