Butterfly Rainbow Cascade

For my last sample using the current Claritystamp Offer of the Week stamp set, I decided to put the butterflies front and centre to create a birthday card.

Stamp the small butterfly from the Butterfly Wreath set onto the front of a 7” x 7” white card blank in Festive Berries Distress Oxide and mask it up.

Add the larger butterfly in Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide and mask it up.

Continue adding butterflies in alternate sizes in Fossilized Amber, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides, moving the masks as necessary. Remove the masks.

Add further colour to the butterflies using Distress inks in the same colours, applied with a watercolour brush pen. Use a glass mat as a palette.

Mask up the butterflies again, lay the Sunshine stencil over the top of the card and lightly blend Moon Crater Artistry ink through the aperture. Remove the stencil and the masks.

Add shading round the butterflies with the Cold Grey III Polychromo pencil.

To finish, add a sentiment in Onyx black Versafine ink using one of the Entwined Sentiment stamps.
