Clocks and Cogs Birthday Card

I combined the new Clockwork Aperture die from Claritystamp with the Clocks and Cogs stamp set to create this masculine pop-out birthday card.

I used two 14.8cm x 14.5cm card blanks for the inside and outside of the card.  Cut the Clockwork aperture die across the centre of one of the cards.  Score 7.5cm from each edge and fold to create the pop-out card inner.
Blend Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Oxides across the inside of the second card blank.
Add stamping in Sepia Versafine ink and Espresso Adirondack ink using stamps from the Mixed Media Journal set.
Using the 4.25" and 4.75" nested circle picot dies, cut a frame for the card inner from red/brown card and add it around the pop-out aperture.
Cut two panels 6.5cm x 13.5cm from Clarity stencil card.  Decorate them in the same manner as the background.

Add some of the cogs to the left hand panel in Versamark ink and heat emboss in detail white powder.  Add a verse to the right hand panel, this time embossing in gold.
Mat the panels onto the same red/brown card leaving a narrow border and add them to the inside of the card.
Glue the card inner and outer together, matching up the corners and edges.
For the front of the card, cut a piece of stencil card to 13.8cm x 13.5cm and create a background in the same manner as before.

This time add the clock tower as well as the cogs from the clocks and cogs stamps.  Also add Happy (Word Chain 2) and Birthday (WC 3) in Versamark ink and heat emboss in white.
To finish, mat onto red/brown card and add to the front of the card.
If I were to make this card again, I would emboss the verse in white too, as the gold doesn't really stand out against the dark background as well.
