WOYWW 554: A Wake Up Call

Not a great deal of crafting that I can share today  as I have been working on lots of secret stuff.
My desk shows a shutter card that I was working on yesterday (I will be sharing the instructions on Friday if you are interested).  I was playing with some of the Doodleology stamps to decorate it.  You can also see the lovely glasses case (Yoshi) which was part of my Christmas present from my sister.
The outside of the finished card.

I had a bit of a health scare at the weekend, but after lots of tests on Monday, it looks like high blood pressure is the culprit.  I am therefore now on a no/very low salt diet, trying to get 30 minutes of brisk walking in a day and taking a low dose blood pressure tablet every evening.  On the plus side, I have lost 2 pounds since Sunday.
I'll be round to visit tomorrow morning, as we have a Twilight session until 6pm after work today.  In the meantime there are plenty more desks to visit via Julia, who hosts WOYWW each week at The Stamping Ground

You and my other half - blood pressure tablets He's had an op cancelled and looks like another cancellation might be on the cards. We need to watch our salt intake a bit more on the whole. Hope the health scare was not too scary.
Love the glasses case- lucky you.
Hugs and get well

I think you overdo it Dear gal, you need to take a half hour minimum to walk, don’t start getting up earlier to make the day long enough to fit it in either, you just have to let something go a bit. Delighted that it can be controlled. I’ve been salt free and decaf for some years now and it does the trick nicely. Good luck with any adjustments. Like the shutter card doodles, they are lovely. You could learn a lot from a person whose willing to while away some time doodling!

What Barbara said!! I'm glad it's nothing sinister and hope the new regime helps - we're really bad at taking time out but I think you need to schedule some in. Love that zentangle doodle card, the patterns are fab!

Hi Sarah, ooh scares are no fun but, at least its a totally fix able thing for you and you are on the road to fixing it :) I love the pattern mix on that fancy fold, its just so eye catching. ~Stacy #21

Sorry to hear about your scare, not fun. I am also on Blood Pressure pills, 2 day every morning. I do get lots of walking at work, thankfully, but I am terrible at staying away from salt. I did switch to unsalted butter, however, and have grown to love the taste, reminding me of the butter I ate as a child when visiting relatives in Mexico!
Your shutter card is gorgeous, I love the blue ink that you chose! Thanks for your visit to mine, and I actually did get to play last night with my Brushos - they are wonderful! Have a great week, Lindart #20

Oh my goodness, Sarah, I am so sorry to hear about your health scare - that must have been a shock. I do hope the new regimen you are on will sort the problem for you. I love, love, love your shutter card!! This is what I am working on at the moment, too! I am so glad you are doing it, and also that you've told me what they are called because I was struggling to find the right name for it! I love your blue and white design which is reminiscent of that gorgeous Japanese fabric. The belly band is a nice finishing touch, too. Very well done indeedy. Thank you for your lovely comment and your good wishes for my health issues. I am feeling tons better today and have done some cooking (a big batch of my favourite fat-free nut pulp and sourdough starter savoury biscuits which are wafer thin, crispy and delicious!). I am hoping to spend some time in the studio this evening. I'm glad you like my floral designs. Lots more work to do there but it will be fun to use them once they are done.

Happy belated WOYWW,

LOVE the card, so detailed and love that it is just blue and white, very stylish.
thanks for your comments on my blog about the gold fixing for my broken ceramic bowl, I did think of adding gold foil (aka Japanese fixing) but the glue dried so quick!!

Health scares are nothing more than a warning we need to adjust how we take care of ourself. Learned that last year. Take care of yourself!

I've looked at the other posts to see what your 'secret' projects were. They've all turned out lovely. Creative Blessings! Kelly #15
