Gel Print Heat Embossed Combination Card

This card resulted from some play with my gel press plate.  I love the combination of ghostly print and heat embossed intensity on a Distress Oxide background.
Attach the woodland animal squirrel stencil to the front of a 7” x 7” kraft card blank creating a hinge at the top.
Add turquoise acrylic paint to a 6” x 6” gel press plate with a Speedball brayer. Lift some of the paint with bubble wrap and a crumpled up piece of copy paper and take a print through the stencil.

Add a thin layer of Titanium Buff paint to the gel press plate and lift a second print onto a piece of 7” x 7” stencil card.
Blend Cracked Pistachio distress Oxide through the stencil onto the front of the kraft card blank.
Add Versamark ink to the back of the stencil (bottom leaves and left hand leaves and acorns), replace the stencil over the kraft card and run it through an embossing machine to transfer the ink. Heat emboss using Aged Hunter embossing enamel and remove the stencil.
Trim the right hand leaves, toadstool and squirrel out of the second print.
Glue them in place over the kraft card blank lining up the images.
Add shading using Tenacious Teal Artistry ink and a Pergamano blending pen & nib.
Add further colour to the leaves toadstool and squirrel using dark green and dark brown aqua pencils blended out with a water brush.
To finish, add a couple of Barbara’s word stickers.
I will definitely try this combination of media again as I love the contrast.

I agree Sarah, love the difference of the textures. Who would have thought it only used a stencil & a gel plate.
