I decided to play with layering in ink on a tag.
Cut 1cm off the bottom of a #8 mixed media tag. Add Leaf Green and Fern Green Archival inks to the 6” x 6” gel press plate and blend out using a Speedball brayer. Lift ink off the plate multiple times using the longer ivy stamp from the Cherry’s Ivy Boot stamp set. Press the plate onto the tag to transfer the ink. Repeat the process using the holly stamp to remove ink from the plate this time. Stamp the longer ivy stamp directly onto the tag using Fern Green Archival ink. Add further stamping using the holly stamp in the same way. Add words and the bauble cluster in Versafine ink and heat emboss in gold. Add the smaller ivy stamp multiple times in the same way and a holly leaf too. Colour the embossed leaves and baubles using mica paint. I love the watermark effect in the background that using a gel plate creates.
