Decorated Lantern Box

I have had the Lantern Box Bigz (L) die for over a year and had never used it.  I decided to use it to create a 3D piece for a change.
I used kraft card as my base.
To add trailing foliage, I used one of the stamps from the Birdhouse Garden stamp set from Claritystamp in Peeled Paint Distress Oxide.
And again in Forest Moss Oxide.
Followed by Mowed Lawn Oxide and a final layer in Forest Moss.

I did the same on the inside of the lantern, but this time brushed a little Peeled Paint over the background.
Next I added strong tape ready for the acetate windows.
I also masked off the window panels and added more foliage to the top of the outside of the lantern in the same manner as before.
As I showed yesterday (see HERE), by snipping into an aperture die it is possible to change the look of it completely.  I wanted to add some birds to the outside of the lantern so I die cut the #4 New Design Die Club die from dark brown card.
I then snipped all the complete birds from the aperture.
In the end I only used four of them.  I cut acetate to size and stuck it onto the inside of each window first, then glued the chosen birds on the outside.
Only then did I follow the instructions on the die and put the lantern together.

To finish, I rubbed a little dark gold gilding wax around the windows and the edges of the top.
